Did Zied Really Recommit to Rebecca on 90 Day: The Last Resort?

Rebecca Parrott and Zied Hakimi appeared to leave 90 Day: The Last Resort Season 3 having chosen their marriage again. Their recommitment ceremony ended with Rebecca telling Zied that she chose him and chose their relationship, while the group celebrated what looked like another couple making it through the retreat together.

Watching the ceremony again on 90 Day: The Last Resort Between the Sheets, however, gave Rebecca a very different perspective. She noticed something she had completely missed while standing in front of Zied: he never clearly said that he was recommitting to her.

Did Zied Recommit to Rebecca?

Zied appeared to recommit to Rebecca, but his actual words were noticeably less definite than hers. He spoke about loving Rebecca, acknowledged that they had been fighting in the days before the ceremony, and said that people need time to change, but he stopped short of giving the same direct commitment Rebecca eventually offered.

That distinction only became obvious to Rebecca when she watched the footage back. During the ceremony, she was too nervous to focus on the exact wording and understood Zied’s speech as a decision to remain in the marriage. Between the Sheets changed that interpretation because she could finally listen to what he actually said rather than simply react to the emotions of the moment.

Why Does Rebecca Think Zied Left Himself an Out?

Rebecca’s concern is that Zied deliberately worded his speech in a way that could work regardless of what she decided. She reasons that if she said she wanted to recommit, Zied could respond that this was also what he meant, but if she chose to leave, he could claim he had reached the same conclusion.

She describes his vows as “noncommittal” and admits that he seemed to be leaving himself an exit. Rebecca also recognizes the irony because she says she was protecting herself in a similar way, suggesting neither of them entered that moment completely certain about what the other person was going to say.

That makes their ceremony quite different from couples who explicitly stated that they were recommitting. Zied’s feelings for Rebecca are clear in the episode, but affection and a formal decision about the marriage are not necessarily the same thing.

Rebecca Was Much More Direct With Zied

Rebecca eventually gives Zied the certainty that his own speech lacks. After reflecting on how difficult the retreat had been and whether love was still enough, she tells him that she chooses him and chooses them.

The group responds as though the couple has successfully recommitted, and even the therapists initially treat the ceremony as a positive outcome. In that moment, Rebecca clearly believes the two of them have reached the same decision, which helps explain why she did not challenge Zied’s wording when they were standing together.

Between the Sheets shows that her confidence came later under question. Once the emotion of the ceremony was gone, Rebecca could hear the difference between Zied saying that he loved her and Zied explicitly promising to remain committed to their marriage.

The Therapists Are Still Worried About Rebecca and Zied

The uncertainty around Zied’s vows is not the only reason their future remains complicated. During the Between the Sheets discussion, concern remains that Zied has spent much of the retreat with one foot in the relationship and one foot outside it.

Their disagreements also extend beyond ordinary communication problems. The subject of children remains particularly important because Rebecca worries that Zied could eventually decide that becoming a father matters more to him than he currently admits. The discussion points out that this could become an even larger problem five or ten years down the line.

There is work to do on both sides as well. Zied is criticized for becoming distant when conflict becomes uncomfortable, while Rebecca is encouraged to change the way she sometimes speaks to him. Their recommitment therefore never resolves the deeper problems that brought them to the retreat.

Did The Last Resort Actually Fix Rebecca and Zied’s Marriage?

Rebecca does say that the retreat changed some aspects of their relationship. In the aftershow discussion, there is recognition that the experience made them more patient and helped them understand how they behave during disagreements.

That is meaningful progress, but it is different from saying all their problems disappeared. Between the Sheets deliberately complicates the happy ending of the recommitment ceremony by revealing that even Rebecca now questions exactly what Zied promised her.

So, did Zied really recommit to Rebecca? The safest answer from what Episode 16 and Between the Sheets show is that Rebecca and Zied left the ceremony as a couple who had chosen to continue their marriage, but Zied never expressed that choice as directly as Rebecca did. His vague wording is precisely why Rebecca now wonders whether he had fully committed in that moment or simply avoided making a final choice.

That uncertainty becomes even more important heading into the Tell All. The retreat may have kept Rebecca and Zied together for the moment, but Between the Sheets makes it clear that the question of how committed Zied truly is has not completely disappeared.
