Netflix’s Crew Girl gives Teagan Tao a new life at Easton Prep, but its first season does not leave her in anything close to a settled position. She helps transform the school’s struggling boys’ crew, finds herself caught between Josh and Cam, and begins rebuilding after her father’s financial scandal. Then the finale gives her another major decision to make.

Easton is finally getting a girls’ rowing team, Cam has taken over the stroke seat, Josh wants another chance with Teagan, and Coach Hayden has lost his job. They are the kind of developments that naturally set up another season rather than close the story.

Crew Girl Season 2 Is Confirmed

The renewal follows the first season’s eight-episode debut on September 10, 2026.

When Could Crew Girl Season 2 Be Released?

Netflix has not announced a Season 2 premiere date or release window.

The Girls’ Crew Could Become Season 2’s Biggest Story

The clearest setup for another season comes from the creation of Easton Prep’s girls’ rowing team.

Teagan spends most of Season 1 trying to prove herself as the coxswain of the boys’ crew because Easton does not have a girls’ program. By the finale, Britney changes that. She gathers interested students and secures financial backing from a wealthy member of her family, giving the school enough support to establish a girls’ boat.

That should be good news for Teagan. She came to Easton as an accomplished single sculler and has never stopped wanting to row herself. The problem is that she has also become deeply attached to the boys’ crew.

Netflix’s own finale coverage leaves that dilemma unresolved. Miku Martineau acknowledged that Teagan wants to pursue her personal rowing career but has also formed a real bond with the boys’ team.

Season 2 could therefore force Teagan to choose between continuing as the boys’ coxswain and returning to the kind of rowing career she originally wanted. Britney’s involvement would make the decision even more complicated, since the two have spent much of the first season as rivals.

Josh, Cam and Teagan Are Not Finished

The finale leaves Teagan’s relationships with Josh and Cam unresolved.

Cam and Teagan kiss in the final moments of Season 1, giving their relationship another opportunity after everything that happened between them. Cam has also finally earned the stroke seat he spent the season fighting for, putting him in a much more confident position than when he first became interested in Teagan.

But the kiss does not mean Teagan has definitively chosen Cam.

Before Cam arrives, Josh asks Teagan to consider giving him another chance after he has dealt with his heart condition and become a better version of himself. Netflix’s official ending explainer says Teagan has not completely closed the door on either relationship, while Vivian Lin has said she deliberately wants audiences to remain torn between Josh and Cam.

Josh would also return to a very different life. His hypertrophic cardiomyopathy has changed his future in rowing, and Lin has said the character needs to rebuild after hurting people while trying to conceal his condition. Sam Braun has even suggested that Josh could potentially become involved with the girls’ team in another capacity, although that is an actor’s idea rather than a confirmed storyline.

Meanwhile, Cam’s promotion to stroke could create problems of its own. Kyle Clark has suggested that the pressure and confidence that come with Cam’s new position could affect him emotionally. He also still does not know everything that happened between Josh and Teagan.

So even if Season 2 begins with Cam and Teagan exploring a relationship, Josh is clearly still part of the equation.

Coach Hayden Could Still Return

Coach Matt Hayden ends Season 1 in trouble despite Easton’s success at the Haverford Cup.

When Principal Cabrera learns that Hayden allowed Teagan and Cam to compete despite orders surrounding the equipment-tampering investigation, Hayden takes responsibility and is fired. Easton nevertheless finishes the race on the podium with Cam in the stroke seat and Teagan as coxswain.

His firing creates another obvious Season 2 question. Easton will need someone to oversee its rowing program, particularly with a new girls’ team being created.

Hayden’s future at Easton remains unresolved. A replacement coach or a return for Thomas Cadrot remains speculation without an official announcement.

It would also be surprising if Hayden disappeared completely. His relationship with Ella Tao became an important part of the first season. Netflix describes Hayden as Ella’s childhood love and the “one that got away,” leaving plenty for the series to explore between them even if his professional future at Easton changes.

Who Could Return for Crew Girl Season 2?

These are Season 1 cast members and possible continuing storylines, not a confirmed full Season 2 lineup.

Miku Martineau would almost certainly need to return as Teagan Tao, alongside Samuel Braun as Josh Regis and Kyle Clark as Cam Dillinger. Jessica Pare would also be likely to return as Teagan’s mother Ella, while Thomas Cadrot could continue as Coach Matt Hayden despite the character’s firing.

The boys’ crew remains central to the show, which makes returns likely for Connor Paton as Ryder Regis, Jude Wilson as Baloo Garner, Vincent Muller as Damon Quaid, Riley Davis as Noah Bainbridge, Connor Wong as Perry Chou and Jarrett Carlington as Chris “Crab Catcher” Padmore. These actors were all part of Netflix’s principal Season 1 ensemble.

Sage Linder’s Britney could become even more important if the girls’ crew takes center stage. Olga Petsa’s Juliet also has plenty of room for a larger storyline after spending much of Season 1 outside the main rowing drama.

Characters such as Niall Matter’s Richard Regis and Lucia Walters’ Senator DeeDee Garner could continue appearing as the series develops the Regis and Garner family dynamics. Byron Lawson could also return as David Tao, although David surrendering to authorities means his Season 2 role could look very different from his fugitive storyline in the first season.

The renewal alone does not confirm every actor’s return.

What Would Crew Girl Season 2 Be About?

The ending gives the writers several storylines that can move forward at the same time.

Teagan may finally have the opportunity to become a rower again, but joining the girls’ team could mean stepping away from the boys she spent an entire season learning to lead. Britney would go from romantic rival and school queen bee to one of the key figures in Teagan’s rowing future.

Cam now has the stroke seat he desperately wanted, but greater responsibility could expose a different side of him. Josh has to rebuild his life after his heart condition changes his athletic future, while his feelings for Teagan remain unresolved. Coach Hayden’s firing creates uncertainty for both the crew and his relationship with Ella.

Vivian Lin has deliberately avoided promising exactly which of those ideas the writers would pursue. She has confirmed, however, that the writers have already discussed possibilities for what happens next.

Season 2 is confirmed. Its release date and the resolution of these cliffhangers remain open.
