While the Paramount+ series concentrates on the families surrounding Legendary Prep Academy, Melanie’s life away from youth baseball has largely unfolded in the gaming industry, where she has spent well over a decade working her way through a variety of senior roles.
On the show, Paramount introduces the Dunmars through Melanie, her husband Jon and their son KJ. Promotional material already hints that Jon will not necessarily remain quietly on the sidelines, giving the Dunmar household a slightly different dynamic from a series that may initially appear to revolve mainly around the mothers.

Melanie Dunmar Is a Gaming Industry Executive
Melanie’s professional relationship with Design Works Gaming goes back more than a decade. The Arizona-based company announced her promotion to Chief Product Officer in 2024, noting that she had already spent more than 14 years with the business by that point.
Her career there has not followed a single narrow track. Design Works Gaming has credited Melanie with experience spanning compliance, intellectual property, business development and game design. Earlier in her tenure, she also served as Chief Operating Officer, while a 2022 company announcement identified her as its IP and Compliance Manager.
That range is particularly notable because Melanie’s Team Moms introduction centers on her as the parent of a young baseball player rather than as a corporate executive. Away from the field, she has spent years inside an international gaming business operating across markets including the United States and United Kingdom.
Melanie Was Born in Germany
Melanie’s background also extends beyond Arizona. In a 2019 interview with SBC News, she said she was born in Germany and that knowing a second language helped her get an early opportunity in the gaming industry. She later began learning Spanish, while encouraging her children to study other languages as well.
That same interview revealed another side of Melanie that does not immediately come through in a corporate resume. She is a keen golfer and described attending the Masters in Augusta as one of her favorite sporting experiences.
Her interest in sports therefore predates the baseball world viewers will see in Team Moms. The difference is that her son’s involvement at Legendary Prep places Melanie on the parent side of competition rather than the participant side.
Melanie Is Married to Jon Dunmar
Melanie is married to Jon Dunmar, who also appears in Team Moms: Baseball. Paramount officially promotes Melanie, Jon and KJ as the Dunmar family featured in the series.

Jon has his own sporting background. His professional profile describes him as a former professional athlete who later developed a lengthy career in sales and management. He is currently connected professionally with Honeywell in the Greater Phoenix area.
The couple have a son, KJ, and a daughter, Mikayla. Older public family records identify Melanie and Jon as parents of both children, while Melanie herself previously discussed having a son learning German and a daughter studying Chinese.
KJ is the child viewers will see most prominently because his baseball career is what brings the Dunmars into the Legendary Prep story.
Where Is Melanie Dunmar Now?
Melanie remains professionally connected to Design Works Gaming as Chief Product Officer while expanding her public profile through Team Moms: Baseball. Her work places her in a very different world during the week, but the Paramount+ series shows another part of her schedule built around KJ’s baseball commitments.
That contrast could become one of the more interesting parts of her story. Melanie is not entering reality television primarily as an influencer or entertainment personality. She arrives as a longtime business executive, wife and mother whose family happens to be deeply invested in one of Scottsdale’s competitive youth baseball programs.
