Red Queen Season 2 brings Antonia Scott and Jon Gutierrez’s Marbella investigation to an end, but its final minutes make it clear that their larger story is nowhere near finished. Mr. White finally emerges from the background as a direct threat to the Red Queen organization, while Sandra’s return leaves Jon caught in the middle of a conflict Antonia has been trying to understand since Season 1.
That cliffhanger naturally makes Season 3 the immediate question after finishing the six new episodes. In this case, viewers do not have to wait for a renewal decision. Prime Video moved unusually far ahead with the next chapter of Juan Gomez-Jurado’s trilogy, although one important detail is still missing: exactly when audiences will get to see it.
Red Queen Season 3 Is Confirmed and Already Filmed
Red Queen Season 3 is officially happening, and production is much further along than a typical newly renewed streaming series. Filming was completed in Madrid in May 2026, several months before Season 2 arrived on Prime Video. The third installment adapts Rey Blanco, or White King, the final novel in Gomez-Jurado’s original Antonia Scott trilogy.
That means the Season 2 finale is not leaving Jon’s situation unresolved because the series’ future is uncertain. Victoria Luengo is already confirmed to return as Antonia Scott, while Hovik Keuchkerian will again play Jon Gutierrez. Prime Video’s announced Season 3 premise specifically places both characters at the center of the story, providing an important answer for viewers worried about Jon after the cliffhanger.

There is also an unusual advantage here for fans. Because Season 3 was filmed before Season 2 premiered, the series should not face the same kind of production wait that often follows a streaming renewal. Post-production and Prime Video’s release strategy are now the more important factors.
Does Red Queen Season 3 Have a Release Date?
As of October 2, 2026, Prime Video has not announced an official release date for Red Queen Season 3. The May production announcement confirmed that filming had wrapped, but it did not provide a month or year for the third season’s premiere. Reports suggesting a specific 2027 date should therefore be treated as speculation unless Prime Video announces one directly.
A 2027 release would be possible considering the production timeline, but there is not enough confirmed information to present that as the official window. Season 2 itself arrived more than two years after the first season, yet Season 3 is in a very different position because its principal photography is already complete.
For now, the most useful status is simple: Season 3 is not waiting for renewal and is not waiting to be filmed. It has already moved beyond both of those stages.
Season 3 Will Adapt White King
The third season is based on White King, the concluding novel of the trilogy that began with Red Queen and continued with Black Wolf. That is significant because the first two seasons have been steadily building toward the confrontation that the third book finally brings into the foreground.
Prime Video’s announced story sends Antonia and Jon back to Madrid, where they become involved in what the production describes as a large-scale game of intelligence orchestrated by Mr. White. They will be forced to deal with a series of seemingly impossible cases while people close to them are placed at risk. The official description also continues the chess imagery that surrounds Antonia, presenting the confrontation as a much larger strategic contest rather than another isolated investigation.
The setup closely matches the central premise of Gomez-Jurado’s White King. Publisher Pan Macmillan describes the novel as a story in which the Red Queen project is under pressure across Europe and Mr. White forces Antonia into a series of challenges while Jon’s safety becomes leverage against her. The television adaptation can still change individual events, but Season 2’s ending already shows that Prime Video is retaining that basic framework.

Jon’s Season 2 Cliffhanger Leads Directly Into Season 3
Season 2 ends just after Antonia finally confirms that her suspicions about Mr. White were justified. Mentor acknowledges that White is real and connects him to the wider pattern involving Red Queens in different European cities. He warns Antonia that she and Jon are both in danger, but that warning arrives too late to protect her partner.
The finale then brings Sandra back into the story and shows Jon being taken. Prime Video’s own Season 2 episode description confirms Sandra’s involvement in his disappearance, making the cliffhanger much more specific than a simple “Jon is missing” ending.
Season 3’s confirmed premise now gives that moment additional context. Mr. White is no longer operating primarily through distant clues while Antonia works on another case. The new season is designed around his direct confrontation with her, and Jon’s situation provides exactly the kind of personal leverage capable of forcing Antonia to participate.
That also gives Jon’s earlier decision to step away from their dangerous work a cruel irony. He spends the Season 2 finale trying to reclaim an ordinary life, only for White’s larger plan to pull him deeper into Antonia’s unfinished battle.
Which Cast Members Are Returning?
Victoria Luengo and Hovik Keuchkerian will continue leading the series as Antonia Scott and Jon Gutierrez. Several important supporting characters are also officially returning, including Alex Brendemuhl as Mentor, Eduardo Noriega as Jaume Soler, Vicenta N’Dongo as Doctor Aguado, Karmele Larrinaga as Maritxu, Fernando Guallar as Tomas and Bruno Sevilla as Marcos.
The announced cast is especially interesting because Season 3 returns the story to Madrid after Season 2’s Marbella-heavy investigation. Characters tied more closely to Antonia’s family, the Red Queen organization and her earlier life can consequently move back toward the center of the series.
The May announcement did not identify the performer playing Mr. White. That leaves Prime Video room to preserve one of the story’s biggest mysteries even while openly confirming that the character will become the central antagonist of Season 3.
Who Is Making Red Queen Season 3?
Koldo Serra is directing the third installment, continuing his involvement with Prime Video’s adaptation. Focus Studios and Dopamine are producing, with Josep Amoros serving as executive producer alongside Serra, Pere Roca and Helena Medina. Medina is also writing the season with Salvador Perpina.
Keeping much of the same creative team matters because White King has to pay off story threads spread across all three parts of the trilogy. Mr. White’s connection to Antonia, Sandra’s role, the Red Queen organization and Jon’s importance to Antonia are no longer separate mysteries. Season 3 has to bring them together.
Will Red Queen Season 3 Be the Final Season?
Season 3 is adapting White King, which is the third and concluding novel in Gomez-Jurado’s core Antonia Scott trilogy. That makes it the natural conclusion to the television storyline Prime Video began with Red Queen, particularly now that Mr. White is moving into the central antagonist role. Pan Macmillan likewise describes White King as the conclusion of the Antonia Scott trilogy.
Prime Video has not, however, publicly described Season 3 as the final season in a way that rules out any future stories set in Gomez-Jurado’s wider literary universe. For the immediate Antonia-versus-Mr.-White storyline, though, viewers should expect the third season to provide the major answers the first two seasons have been deliberately withholding.
Season 2 ultimately works less like the middle of three unrelated investigations and more like the bridge between Antonia’s introduction and her real confrontation with the person who has been manipulating events around her. Season 3 is already filmed, Mr. White is finally taking center stage, and Jon’s disappearance ensures Antonia will have no choice but to play his game.
