The abrupt ending of Prime Video’s Drawn Together is not the end of Marfil Cortés and Sebastián Moore’s story. A second movie is officially coming, and viewers will not have to rely on renewal speculation to know whether the cliffhanger will eventually be resolved.
The sequel is titled Drawn Apart and adapts Ébano, the second novel in Mercedes Ron’s Enfrentados duology. Prime Video announced the sequel as part of its continuing partnership with Ron, while stars Ester Expósito and Hugo Diego García have confirmed that they have already filmed it. What Prime Video has not announced yet is the sequel’s release date.

Drawn Apart Will Continue Marfil and Sebastián’s Story
Drawn Together adapts Marfil, the first of two Enfrentados novels. That is why the first movie does not attempt to give Marfil and Sebastián a complete ending.
Instead, the film closes with Marfil once again in danger after discovering that almost everything she believed about her father, Sebastián and her original kidnapping was incomplete or false.
Amazon has officially identified Drawn Apart as the adaptation of the second part of Mercedes Ron’s story. It forms part of Prime Video’s growing collection of adaptations from the author, following the enormous success of the Culpables movies.
So this is not a situation where Amazon is waiting to see the first movie’s streaming numbers before deciding whether to continue. The two-part story was already planned.

Drawn Apart Has Already Been Filmed
The sequel is further along than the phrase “in development” might suggest. During a September 2026 interview with Variety India, Expósito and García were asked about filming Drawn Apart, and both discussed having already shot the sequel. They explained that working on the films close together helped them stay connected to their characters and follow Marfil and Sebastián’s emotional progression more naturally.
That means principal photography on the second installment has already taken place. It does not, however, mean the sequel is ready for immediate release. Post-production, editing, localization and Prime Video’s release schedule still have to be considered. As of September 10, 2026, Prime Video has not announced an official premiere date for Drawn Apart.
What Will Drawn Apart Be About?
The sequel will pick up from the dangerous position in which the first movie leaves both characters.
Marfil has been taken by the people connected to the Kozel organization after Logan betrays her trust, while Sebastián realizes too late that the supposed meeting with her father was a trap. Their romantic relationship is also badly damaged.
Marfil discovers shortly before the ending that Sebastián and Ray are FBI agents and that they were responsible for her original kidnapping. Although Sebastián insists that his feelings for her were genuine, the revelation changes everything Marfil believed about how their relationship began.
Expósito has said that Marfil has not simply forgiven Sebastián by the end of the first movie, even though her feelings for him remain strong. García, meanwhile, has indicated that the immediate concern in the sequel is no longer simply repairing their romance, it is getting Marfil out alive.
Mercedes Ron has also described the second installment as darker, with more emphasis on the thriller and action elements of the story. Expósito has teased that Marfil gets more opportunities to use the fighting skills she began developing in the first movie.
Is Drawn Apart Based on Ébano?
Yes. Just as Drawn Together adapts Mercedes Ron’s Marfil, Drawn Apart is based on the second Enfrentados novel, Ébano.
However, viewers who have read the novels should not assume that everything will happen exactly as it does in the books.
The first film already makes major changes to the source material, especially involving Sebastián’s identity and the circumstances surrounding Marfil’s danger. In the movie, Sebastián is secretly an FBI agent, a significant departure from his background in the novel. The film’s final sequence also differs considerably from the book’s conclusion.
That gives Drawn Apart room to follow the basic emotional arc of Ébano while changing how Marfil and Sebastián actually reach their eventual resolution.
For now, the most important news for viewers frustrated by the cliffhanger is simple: Drawn Together 2 is definitely happening, and it has already been filmed. What remains unknown is when Prime Video will release it.
