Apollo Has Fallen quickly gives Zara Taylor another reason to question the intelligence network around her. After the Benghazi operation exposes signs of a much wider conspiracy, Zara begins to suspect that Yuri Mishkin and Voltov are receiving information from someone inside MI6.

Andrew Leviston initially appears to be the obvious suspect because of his senior position and access to sensitive operations. The real surprise comes from Karen Mills, played by Charlotte Spencer, who has presented herself as one of the few people Zara can still trust. By Episode 2, Karen’s role becomes one of the season’s most important early twists.

Karen is portrayed as an ambitious and capable intelligence officer with a deeply personal connection to the profession. Her mother also worked in intelligence, and that family background appears to have influenced Karen’s career path and her determination to succeed.

Her position places her close enough to sensitive information to understand Zara’s movements and MI6’s plans. More importantly, Zara views Karen as more than simply a colleague, which gives Karen a level of trust that other officers do not receive.

Is Karen Mills the MI6 Mole?

Yes. Karen is revealed to be the MI6 mole during the opening stretch of Season 2. Zara realizes that Voltov has access to information that should remain within British intelligence.
