The Traitors New Blood Episode 3 Recap: New Traitor Joins Joe and Tomica

The Traitors: New Blood enters Episode 3 with its most interesting experiment still unresolved. Joe Vanella and Tomica Adams have been operating as the castle’s original Traitors, but Katie Fites and Xavier Scruggs were secretly given a chance to compete for the third place in their group. The Traitors Are Watching finally reveals who wins that battle, although the decision almost immediately creates a new problem for the trio.

Meanwhile, the Faithfuls are still recovering from their first major mistake. Kriste Lewis confidently pushed suspicion toward Madeline Kostopulos at the previous Round Table, only for Madeline to reveal that she was a Faithful. Episode 3 finds the group trying to start again, but a valuable clue suddenly brings them much closer to understanding what happened between Katie and Xavier.

Katie and Xavier Finally Meet Joe and Tomica

Katie and Xavier both successfully complete their secret Accomplice assignment by obtaining the required warrants without exposing the larger twist to the other players. That earns them a face-to-face meeting with Joe and Tomica, but completing the assignment does not guarantee both of them a place among the Traitors. Only one can stay.

Katie makes the case that she can work as part of a team and points to her earlier Round Table vote as evidence that she can think independently. Xavier takes a more aggressive approach, arguing that he has already put Katie’s name into circulation among the Faithful and that bringing her into the group could therefore create unnecessary risk.

The argument is clever, but it also gives Joe and Tomica something else to consider. If Xavier is already willing to turn attention toward someone competing beside him, could he eventually behave the same way toward them?

Why Do Joe and Tomica Choose Katie?

Joe and Tomica ultimately choose Katie as the third Traitor, while Xavier is removed from the game overnight. Their reasoning comes down largely to how each Accomplice has positioned themselves socially. Katie is generally well-liked inside the castle and has not yet become one of the loudest targets. That gives her the potential to gather information without immediately looking like someone controlling the game.

Xavier, by contrast, has already demonstrated a willingness to put pressure on Katie. His attempt to make himself look like the safer choice instead convinces Joe and Tomica that he could become difficult to trust later.

Katie is delighted by the decision and joins Joe and Tomica in the turret. The three now form the complete Traitor team, but the circumstances surrounding Xavier’s exit leave Katie with more exposure than she realizes.

Logan Starts Connecting Xavier to Katie

Breakfast brings confirmation that Xavier is gone, and most of the Faithfuls initially have little reason to understand why he was selected.

Logan Smith, however, remembers something important. Xavier had previously voiced suspicion about Katie and described a nervous energy around her. With Xavier suddenly out of the game, Logan begins wondering whether that earlier suspicion could mean something.

It is not enough to build a case on its own, but Logan quietly shares the idea with a few other players. Ben McDonnell agrees that Katie could fit the image of an unsuspected Traitor because her personality makes her appear relatively harmless. That is the first sign that choosing Katie may not be as safe as Joe and Tomica hoped.

The Crypt Mission Gives the Faithfuls Their Best Clue Yet

Episode 3’s main mission offers the group a possible $30,000 addition to the prize fund. The players have to break into three crypts, with selected pairs entering them and deciding whether to prioritize money, protection or information.

Arisa Thomas and Morgan Cook enter the first crypt and add $5,000. Tomica and Clyde Moser enter the second, where Clyde chooses protection along with another $5,000 rather than taking the larger cash option.

The most important decision belongs to Michael Foote and Ben. Their crypt gives them the chance to take more money or accept a smaller amount alongside confidential information about the Traitors. They choose the information.

The clue tells them that two players battled in plain sight the previous night for the opportunity to become a Traitor. Suddenly, the hidden Accomplice competition is no longer completely hidden.

The group ultimately adds $15,000 to the prize pot, but the clue could prove considerably more valuable than the money.

Why Do Arisa and Victor Become Suspects?

Despite receiving a clue that could eventually point directly toward Katie, the Faithfuls initially interpret it through events they personally witnessed.

Attention turns toward Arisa and Victor Vollbrechthausen because the two had performed what Arisa calls a “truth test.” Niyyah Hayes wonders whether that strange interaction could have been the public battle referenced in the clue.

Arisa explains that the test was simply her way of trying to read Victor, but Victor questions why she singled him out for it. Their disagreement gives the group something visible to debate, which temporarily pulls attention away from the real Accomplice story.

Abby Lee adds to the pressure on Arisa by questioning what happened during the crypt mission. Morgan, who entered alongside Arisa, cannot provide enough certainty to settle the issue, leaving the accusation hanging over her.

Kriste Gets Surprisingly Close to the Truth

After being badly wrong about Madeline, Kriste approaches the next Round Table from a much stronger position.

She suggests that Xavier may have been one of the two people mentioned in the clue. If Xavier was competing for something and is now gone, Kriste reasons, perhaps he lost that competition. That theory is remarkably close to what actually happened.

Joe then asks whether Xavier had any disagreements or concerns about other players before leaving. The question gives Jay Vinnedge an opening to mention that Xavier had expressed doubts about Katie.

For the first time, the Faithfuls now have separate pieces of information that could be assembled correctly: Xavier was suddenly removed, the clue says two people competed to become a Traitor, and Xavier had already pointed toward Katie.

Episode 3 Ends With Jay’s Body Language Claim

Just as Logan appears ready to add more information about Katie, Jay changes the direction of the conversation. He reveals that he has experience reading body language and suggests he may have noticed something useful during the discussion. The episode ends before Jay identifies where that observation will lead, pushing the Round Table decision into Episode 4.

It is a smart cliffhanger because the Faithfuls are simultaneously very close to the truth and completely distracted by other theories.

Katie has successfully earned her place beside Joe and Tomica, but Xavier may have left behind exactly the trail that could expose her. Kriste has unexpectedly developed the right theory, Logan remembers Xavier’s warning, and Ben and Michael possess a clue that describes the Accomplice competition almost perfectly.

Episode 3 therefore gives Katie what she wanted, but it also ensures that becoming a Traitor may be considerably easier than remaining one.
