Is Joe Bradley the New Bosun on Below Deck Med Season 12? Filming Photos Fuel the Rumor

Joe Bradley may finally be getting the promotion he has been chasing on Below Deck Mediterranean. Although Bravo has not announced the complete Season 12 crew, filming photos from Corfu appear to show Joe back aboard the yacht, and there are growing signs that he could be serving as Captain Sandy Yawn’s new bosun.

The possibility is particularly interesting after Season 11. Joe entered that season as a deckhand but was eventually given a chance to run the exterior team when Nathan Gallagher’s back injury temporarily took him off the boat. Now, the Season 12 sightings suggest that trial run may have led to something more permanent.

Is Joe Bradley the Bosun on Below Deck Med Season 12?

Joe Bradley appears to be the rumored bosun for Below Deck Mediterranean Season 12, but Bravo has not confirmed his position yet.

Photos taken while Season 12 was filming in Corfu appear to show Joe among the exterior crew. The images quickly circulated among Below Deck viewers, and a subsequent report identified the returning yachtie as the season’s alleged bosun.

That makes the rumor more substantial than an ordinary fan theory, but it still falls short of official confirmation. Bravo has so far publicly named only Captain Sandy and Aesha Scott as returning members of the Season 12 Below Deck Med team.

Season 12 Filming Photos Appear to Show Joe in Corfu

The leaked production photos are where the speculation began. Several familiar faces appear to have been spotted while the crew filmed in Corfu, including Chef Joy Lefaucheur and a man strongly resembling Joe Bradley.

Joe appearing aboard the yacht would already be noteworthy because the full Season 12 cast remains under wraps. The bigger clue, however, is that people following the filming have identified him as occupying the exterior leadership role rather than simply returning for another season as a regular deckhand.

There have also been apparent sightings of other former crew members, but none of those unofficial cast reports should be treated as confirmed until Bravo releases the full lineup.

Joe Already Served as Acting Bosun in Season 11

A promotion would make sense based on what Captain Sandy has already seen from Joe. During Season 11, Nathan’s back injury forced him away from regular deck duties, leaving Sandy without her bosun during an already difficult period for the exterior team.

Sandy responded by appointing Joe as acting bosun while Nathan underwent medical evaluation. That gave Joe the opportunity to coordinate the deck crew and take responsibility for operations rather than simply following another officer’s instructions.

It was also not Joe’s first experience with additional responsibility. He had previously worked as a lead deckhand on Below Deck Med, including during Season 10, giving him a progression from deckhand to lead deckhand and eventually acting bosun. Bravo itself referred to Joe as Season 10’s lead deckhand when discussing his life after that season.

Captain Sandy Has Already Tested Joe as a Leader

That history is what makes the Season 12 rumor believable. Captain Sandy does not need to guess how Joe will perform when placed in charge because she has already watched him handle the role during an actual charter season.

Joe has not always had an uncomplicated relationship with leadership. Earlier seasons showed him making mistakes and occasionally clashing with others on deck, but his continued return to the franchise suggests Sandy has also seen professional growth in him.

Season 11 became particularly important because Joe was no longer simply talking about wanting more responsibility. He was actually placed in the bosun position when the boat needed someone to step up.

Bravo Has Not Announced the Full Season 12 Crew Yet

There is still one reason not to put “Joe Bradley is the new bosun” in a headline as a confirmed statement. Bravo’s official Season 12 announcement names Captain Sandy as captain and Aesha as chief stew, but says that additional crew members will be announced later.

That means Joe’s return, his exact rank and the rest of the exterior department remain unofficial for now. Chef Joy Lefaucheur, Cooper Dawson and former chief stew Katie Flood have also been discussed following filming sightings, but they are not part of Bravo’s announced Season 12 crew at this stage.

For Joe, though, the clues line up unusually well. He appears to have been spotted filming Season 12, outside reports are identifying him as the likely bosun, and Captain Sandy already trusted him with that exact job during Season 11. Until Bravo releases the cast list, Joe Bradley as Season 12 bosun remains a very credible rumor rather than a confirmed promotion.
