Gossip to Die For brings together a mostly British-based ensemble for a murder mystery built around homicide detective Quinn Walker. Quinn is returning to work after losing her husband while also trying to raise her young son, Liam. A new murder case soon introduces her to Carter, a London detective whose presence in America is more personal than it initially appears. Around them is a group of actors, managers, police officers and online personalities who gradually become suspects, victims or both.

Susan Ateh leads the cast as Quinn, with Jay Rincon playing Carter and Roisin Browne taking the important role of Anna Moore. The movie was originally released through Tubi in May 2024 and is now receiving a Lifetime airing on September 6, 2026.

Susan Ateh as Quinn Walker

Susan Ateh plays Quinn Walker, the homicide detective carrying most of the story. Quinn has recently returned to work following her husband’s death, but grieving is only one part of what she is dealing with. She is also raising Liam alone and trying to function inside a police department where her judgment is being watched closely.

Ateh has worked in film, television and theater for more than 15 years. Her own professional biography lists In Bruges, Come Home, Redwater and A Good Woman Is Hard to Find among her screen credits. In Redwater, she played police officer Bernie Kelly, while earlier television appearances include The Clinic and Doctors.

The role of Quinn gives Ateh far more responsibility than a conventional supporting crime role. She has to carry the procedural investigation while also making Quinn’s grief, strained relationship with Liam and distrust of Carter believable. The movie works best when those pressures begin interfering with one another rather than remaining separate subplots.

Jay Rincon as Carter

Jay Rincon plays Carter, the London detective assigned to work with Quinn. Carter initially appears to be an outsider brought in to assist the investigation, but his reasons for being in the United States are tied to a personal case. That makes his relationship with Quinn more complicated because she cannot immediately decide how much of his interest is professional.

Rincon is a Mexican-American actor originally from Michigan who later settled in London. He studied Music Theatre Performance at Western Michigan University before working in theater, film, television and voice acting. His screen credits include Coronation Street, where he played Antoine Reese, along with Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, The Beekeeper and Silo.

He is also an established video game voice performer. His credits include Dead Island 2, RoboCop: Rogue City, Stellar Blade and other interactive projects. That mix of American background and London-based career is particularly fitting for Carter, a British-based detective dropped into an American investigation.

Roisin Browne as Anna Moore

Roisin Browne plays Anna Moore, one of the central figures connected to the murder case. Anna’s relationship with the celebrity world surrounding the victims puts her close to information Quinn needs, while the investigation gradually makes nearly everyone in that circle worth questioning.

Browne previously appeared in The Peripheral, playing a surgeon across several episodes. Her professional acting record also lists Casualty and other screen and short-film work. Gossip to Die For gives her a considerably larger feature-film role than many of those earlier appearances.

Hunter del Valle Marfo as Liam

Hunter del Valle Marfo plays Liam, Quinn’s young son. Liam is important because the movie does not allow Quinn’s murder investigation to remain separate from her home life. He is curious about detective work himself, sometimes understanding the online side of the case more naturally than his mother does.

Marfo later appeared in the Marvel film The Fantastic Four: First Steps as one of the Yancy Street kids. Gossip to Die For remains one of his more substantial early screen roles, giving him significant material opposite Susan Ateh and Jay Rincon.

Dona Croll as Captain Elis

Dona Croll plays Captain Elis, Quinn’s superior at the police department. She has to manage Quinn’s return to duty while the increasingly strange investigation puts pressure on both the detective and the department. Captain Elis also becomes an important link to Quinn’s past and the reputation of her late husband.

Croll has an extensive career across British stage, film and television. Her film work includes Eastern Promises, Mr Malcolm’s List and Love at First Sight, while her theater credits stretch across major productions at the National Theatre, Almeida and other venues. Her professional resume specifically lists Deadly Gossip, the original production title of Gossip to Die For, with Nanea Miyata directing.

Luis Donegan-Brown and Nicole Miners

Luis Donegan-Brown plays Jason, while Nicole Miners appears as Shiloh Johnson. Both characters belong to the wider group pulled into Quinn’s investigation as she tries to understand the pattern connecting the murders. Their presence helps keep the suspect pool broad rather than building the mystery entirely around Quinn and Carter.

Donegan-Brown’s other credits include Happy Retirement Mr Pickering and the series Fightland. Miners has worked as both an actor and writer, including the science-fiction drama The Algorithm of Loss.

Roger Ajogbe and Maria Crittell

Roger Ajogbe plays Officer Ryan, another member of law enforcement, while Maria Crittell portrays Mia Bailey. Mia is especially significant because her position in the celebrity-driven side of the story helps launch the wider murder investigation.

The credited ensemble extends further than these main characters. Tia May Watts plays Renee, Liam’s babysitter, while Nathaniel Brimmer-Beller appears as influencer Troy Hutton. The supporting cast also includes Kumbi Mushambi as a reporter, Ingrid Werner as news anchor Alison, and Cal-I Jonel as Officer Graves.

That larger cast is useful for the kind of mystery Gossip to Die For is trying to tell. Quinn needs enough people around her for suspicion to keep moving, but the emotional center remains relatively compact. Ateh gives the movie its anchor, Rincon brings uncertainty to the new partnership, and Browne connects the investigation to the world of celebrity gossip that keeps producing new victims.
