The final minutes of Betty La Fea: The Story Continues Season 3 deliberately refuse to give Betty a conventional romantic choice. Betty does not officially choose either Michel or Armando before the finale ends. She is seriously considering Michel’s proposal to leave Bogotá and go to New York, but she explicitly tells Mila that the move has not been decided. Armando, meanwhile, has no intention of quietly accepting her departure and secretly asks Román to help stop it. Then Michel’s Tarot reading produces the ominous Death card, turning what looked like a possible new beginning into the season’s biggest unresolved mystery.

Does Betty End Up With Michel in Season 3?

No, Betty does not definitively end Season 3 with Michel, although she comes much closer to choosing the future he represents. Michel wants her to go to New York with him, and Betty has already spoken about accepting his proposal to study abroad. Near the finale, Michel even suggests that they could leave that same week once the situation at Ecomoda is settled.

There is an important qualification, however. When Mila learns about New York, Betty tells her that the decision is not final. Michel himself had spoken about the move publicly partly to provoke Armando, which makes the romantic situation look more settled than Betty actually considers it.

So Michel has not “won” Betty. He has given her a concrete alternative to the life she has been living in Bogotá, and she is genuinely attracted to that possibility.

Why Does Betty Want to Go to New York?

New York is about more than Michel. Betty has spent much of the season trying to build an identity that is not determined by Armando, Ecomoda or the expectations of her family. Studying abroad gives her the chance to make a decision primarily for herself rather than remaining trapped in another cycle involving the company.

Michel certainly makes that option more appealing. He is affectionate toward Betty, wants a future with her and offers something Armando cannot easily offer: distance from their complicated history. That is precisely why Armando is so threatened by the plan.

The finale therefore avoids reducing Betty’s decision to “Which man does she love more?” Leaving for New York would also mean choosing a different version of her own life.

Does Betty Choose Armando Instead?

Betty does not reunite with Armando romantically in the finale either. Their connection remains obvious, and Michel notices it himself after seeing Betty holding onto Armando during their motorcycle ride. Armando also openly admits to Román that he does not want Betty moving away with Michel.

What makes Armando’s position complicated is that he is still trying to influence Betty rather than simply accepting whatever she decides. He privately asks Román for help stopping both Betty’s move and the proposed sale of Ecomoda. In return, Armando suggests he could become more accepting of Román as Mila’s partner.

It is classic Armando behavior: his feelings are genuine, but his instinct is still to interfere when circumstances stop going his way. Betty has not rewarded that behavior with a reconciliation by the end of Season 3.

What Does the Death Tarot Card Mean for Betty and Michel?

The Death card is presented as a warning about Betty and Michel’s future, but the series does not explain exactly what will happen. Michel specifically asks what is going to happen “between Betty and me.” The card that appears is Death, and the reading ends with the ominous suggestion that the saying about being separated by death may soon prove true.

The safest interpretation is that the card signals an ending or radical change in Betty and Michel’s relationship, rather than confirming that somebody will literally die. Nothing in Episode 10 shows Michel dying, becoming ill or facing an immediate physical threat. The card arrives in response to a relationship question, which makes a romantic meaning more strongly supported by the scene itself.

It could therefore foreshadow the end of Michel’s New York plan, Betty ultimately rejecting him, or some event that fundamentally changes their relationship. The finale intentionally stops before identifying which one.

Does the Death Card Mean Michel Is Going to Die?

There is currently no basis for saying that Michel dies. The word “Death” is understandably dramatic, especially because the Tarot reader follows it with language about death separating lovers. Still, Season 3 ends before anything literal happens to Michel.

That distinction matters because turning the scene into “Michel is going to die” would go further than the episode does. The finale gives viewers an ominous prediction, not a confirmed death scene or medical diagnosis.

Michel’s own question after seeing the card, asking whether there is “life after,” reinforces the uncertainty. The cliffhanger is supposed to make his apparently promising future with Betty suddenly feel unstable.

Where Does the Season 3 Finale Leave Betty?

Betty finishes Season 3 without surrendering her choice to either man. Michel is preparing for New York, Armando is quietly trying to prevent that move, and Betty herself has not made the final decision. Her future at Ecomoda is similarly unsettled because the company’s possible sale remains active when the finale ends.

That makes the Death card particularly effective. The season spends several episodes making Michel’s offer look like Betty’s escape route, then ends by suggesting that this path may not unfold as expected.

For now, the clearest answer is that Betty chooses neither Michel nor Armando in the Season 3 finale. Michel has the stronger immediate position because Betty is seriously contemplating New York, but the Death card warns that their story is heading toward a major change before that future can become secure.
