Tyler Perry’s “Beauty in Black” Season 3 ends by tearing apart almost every position of power the Bellarie family spent the season fighting over. Horace and Norman’s decades-long feud turns bloody, Roy lands in the hospital after an overdose, and Jules emerges from hiding to launch an attack that leaves Kimmie and Mallory’s lives uncertain.

The biggest takeaway is that the finale does not provide a clean list of survivors. Sylvie is definitely dead, but Kimmie, Mallory, Horace, Norman and Roy all end the season in varying degrees of danger. With Season 4 already confirmed, the cliffhanger is clearly designed to leave the Bellarie empire without an obvious person firmly in control.

Jules Turns Make It Rain Into a Trap

The final attack is not simply Gina trying to take control of Rain’s club. Season 3 reveals that Jules has been working behind the scenes and using Gina’s criminal connections to build something much bigger.

Jules enters the finale driven by Glen’s death. After escaping custody, he tracks down Sylvie and finally learns the truth about what happened at the Bellarie property. Rain pushed Glen after mistakenly believing he was assaulting Sylvie, and Glen later died from his injuries.

Learning the truth does not calm Jules. Instead, it seems to push him further into revenge, and his target expands beyond the person who physically caused Glen’s fall.

By the time Jules walks into Make It Rain, he is no longer behaving like the Bellarie family’s fixer. He presents himself as an enemy who knows how the family operates and now has access to Gina’s outside network.

Why Does Jules Attack Kimmie and Mallory?

Kimmie did not push Glen, but she became involved in hiding what happened. She is also now one of the most powerful people inside the Bellarie empire, making her both a personal and strategic target for Jules.

Mallory has also changed sides. After years of protecting her own position, she increasingly works with Kimmie and Horace against other members of the family. That temporary alliance places her directly in Jules’ path.

When Gina gives the signal at Make It Rain, shooters positioned inside the club open fire. Kimmie and Mallory are both hit, turning what initially looks like another Bellarie power struggle into one of the show’s largest cliffhangers. The important point is that Season 3 never confirms that either woman dies.

Are Kimmie and Mallory Dead?

Kimmie and Mallory are wounded during the shooting, but their deaths are deliberately left unresolved.

That makes sense considering where their story has been heading. The two began as rivals but gradually discovered that survival sometimes required cooperation. Their alliance became especially important as Horace’s family fractured around them.

If both survive, Jules may accomplish the opposite of what he intended. The shooting could give Kimmie and Mallory an even stronger reason to work together in Season 4.

It is also difficult to imagine Season 4 resolving the Make It Rain attack without Kimmie at the center of the story. That is an argument for her survival, but it remains prediction rather than confirmation until the next season addresses the shooting.

What Happens Between Norman and Horace?

The other major piece of the finale happens away from the club. Norman’s obsession with his wife Ina’s death finally leads him to Mallory. After learning that Mallory was responsible for the original hit-and-run, he goes to her home seeking revenge.

Mallory refuses to become his victim. She shoots Norman after he enters the house, leaving him bleeding on her kitchen floor.

Horace later arrives, apparently believing Norman has been neutralized. Norman, however, still has enough strength to fire one final shot at his brother.

The scene brings their long-running conflict full circle. Ina’s death widened an existing feud between the brothers, and by the end of Season 3, both men may have destroyed each other.

Does Horace Survive Norman’s Shot?

Horace is not confirmed dead. His security team reaches him and gets him to a hospital, which means he survives the immediate shooting.

Angel remains near Horace at the hospital, but the series stops short of revealing whether Horace will recover. His condition therefore becomes one of Season 4’s biggest unanswered questions.

Norman’s condition is even more uncertain. He remains inside Mallory’s home after being shot and is presented as gravely wounded, but Season 3 does not provide an explicit confirmation of his death either.

That distinction matters because “Beauty in Black” has repeatedly used apparent deaths and near-deaths as cliffhangers.

What Happens to Roy?

Roy is fighting a completely different battle. After being jailed following the FBI operation, his heroin addiction becomes a serious problem as he goes through withdrawal. Another inmate gives him an unidentified substance that Roy takes in an attempt to relieve his symptoms.

Roy overdoses and is rushed to a hospital. Like Horace, his transfer to medical care confirms that he is still alive at that point, but the season does not show his eventual outcome. That leaves another potential Bellarie heir temporarily removed from the battle for control.

Sylvie Is One Death Season 3 Does Confirm

Unlike the other cliffhangers, Sylvie’s fate is definitive. Jules finds her after escaping custody because he believes she knows what happened to Glen. Sylvie eventually reveals that Rain pushed Glen while trying to protect her. Jules responds by shooting Sylvie dead.

Her murder is especially important because she was not responsible for Glen’s death. Jules finally gets the information he has spent so long seeking, but instead of directing his anger only toward the person responsible, he kills the young woman who gives him the truth. That moment shows how far beyond justice his revenge has gone.

What Does the Ending Set Up for Season 4?

Season 4 now has several wars to resolve at the same time. Jules has transformed from an insider protecting the Bellaries into someone capable of using everything he knows against them. Gina gives him a criminal network outside the family’s normal influence, making him considerably harder to control.

Meanwhile, the Bellarie leadership is collapsing. Horace is hospitalized, Norman may be dying, Roy has overdosed, Olivia remains imprisoned, and Kimmie and Mallory have both been shot.

The Season 3 ending therefore is not simply about determining who survives. It removes almost everyone from the board long enough for the balance of power to be completely rewritten.

And if Kimmie and Mallory survive the Make It Rain shooting, Jules may discover that attacking them has created the most dangerous partnership the Bellaries have seen yet.
