Who Are Jules and Gina in Beauty in Black? Their Season 3 Alliance Explained

The final episode of “Beauty in Black” Season 3 reveals that Gina is not operating alone. Jules, the former Bellarie security chief who spent much of the season searching for answers about his son Glen’s death, is the hidden force behind her growing criminal operation.

Gina provides the money, armed men, and access to Make It Rain, but Jules appears to be directing the larger plan. Their partnership leads to the season’s most violent sequence, as gunmen open fire inside Rain’s club and leave Kimmie, Mallory, and several other characters fighting for their lives.

The reveal also changes Jules’ place in the series. He is no longer simply a Bellarie fixer or a grieving father. By the end of Season 3, he has become one of the family’s most dangerous enemies and a likely central villain heading into Season 4.

Who Is Gina in Beauty in Black?

Gina first emerges as a mysterious new presence in Rain’s life. She arrives at Make It Rain and announces that she is now one of the club’s owners, immediately challenging Rain’s authority over the business.

Officer Alex warns Rain that Gina may have connections to organized crime. The series does not fully explain Gina’s background or identify the exact organization supporting her, but her influence is obvious. She has access to armed men, financial resources, and people willing to carry out violent orders.

Rain refuses to surrender control of the club, even after Kimmie encourages her to leave that world behind. That decision places Rain in direct conflict with Gina and turns Make It Rain into the center of a much larger power struggle.

For most of the season, Gina appears to be the main threat. The finale, however, reveals that someone with a far more personal motive has been working behind her.

Why Does Jules Want Revenge on Kimmie?

Jules begins Season 3 in jail following the FBI operation that brought down several people connected to the Bellarie family. While incarcerated, he becomes consumed with discovering what really happened to his son Glen.

Glen died after falling from the loft at the Bellarie property. Rain had discovered Glen having sex with Kimmie’s younger sister, Sylvie, and mistakenly believed Sylvie was being assaulted. Rain pushed Glen while trying to protect her, causing him to lose his balance and fall.

Kimmie was not present when the incident happened and did not cause Glen’s injuries. She nevertheless became involved in concealing the truth, which gave Jules a reason to believe she knew more than she admitted.

After Glen was declared brain-dead, Jules made the decision to remove him from life support. His grief soon became focused on Kimmie and the Bellaries, even though he did not initially have evidence proving who was responsible.

Jules eventually escapes custody after manipulating an FBI agent with the promise of revealing important evidence. Once free, he tracks down Sylvie and forces her to explain what happened.

Sylvie tells him that Rain pushed Glen while attempting to protect her. Jules then shoots Sylvie dead. The series does not provide a detailed explanation for why he kills Sylvie after learning that Rain caused the fall, but the scene shows that his search for the truth has already turned into something more violent and indiscriminate.

Why Are Jules and Gina Working Together?

Jules needs power, money, and armed support to attack the people he blames for Glen’s death. Gina already has access to all three.

Gina’s position at Make It Rain places her close to Rain, Kimmie, and the Bellarie family’s expanding business interests. Her criminal network gives Jules a way to act against them without relying on the Bellarie security system he once controlled.

The exact moment Jules and Gina formed their partnership is not shown. Season 3 also leaves parts of their history unexplained. What the finale does confirm is that Jules has been directing major events from behind the scenes while Gina has served as the visible face of the operation.

When Jules enters Make It Rain, he claims responsibility for several moves against Norman, Horace, and Olivia. His arrival connects Gina’s attempt to take over the club with his personal campaign against the Bellarie family.

Gina appears to understand Jules’ plan and willingly provides the criminal force needed to carry it out. Jules, meanwhile, brings years of knowledge about the Bellaries, including their secrets, rivalries, security weaknesses, and illegal activities.

Together, they have what neither possessed alone. Gina has the network, while Jules knows exactly where the Bellarie family is most vulnerable.

Who Ordered the Shooting at Make It Rain?

Jules is revealed as the person driving the attack, although Gina gives the immediate signal that sets it in motion.

Armed shooters who have been positioned inside the club suddenly rise and begin firing. Kimmie and Mallory are both shot during the assault, while several other people inside Make It Rain are caught in the crossfire.

The attack is not presented as a random act of violence or a simple attempt to seize the nightclub. It is Jules’ declaration that he has returned as a major power.

His target is broader than Rain alone. Kimmie helped expose the Bellarie family’s crimes, Mallory has become one of the company’s most influential leaders, and Horace helped Kimmie gain wealth and authority. By attacking the club while multiple important figures are present, Jules strikes at several enemies at once.

Charles Malik Whitfield, who plays Jules, has described the violence as serving more than one purpose. Jules wants revenge for Glen, but the attack also sends a warning to everyone who believed he had been defeated.

Do Kimmie and Mallory Die in the Shooting?

Season 3 does not confirm that either woman is dead.

Kimmie and Mallory are both hit during the gunfire, but the finale ends without revealing whether their injuries are fatal. Their uncertain condition is one of the main cliffhangers leading into Season 4.

The two women have spent much of the series in conflict, but their temporary alliance becomes increasingly important during Season 3. Both want to protect their positions within the Beauty in Black company, even though they do not completely trust each other.

Their survival will likely determine how the Bellarie empire responds to Jules. If both women live, their shared enemy could push them into a stronger partnership. If one of them dies, the balance of power inside the company could change immediately.

Rain’s fate and the condition of the other people inside the club are also left unresolved.

Are Jules and Gina the New Villains of Beauty in Black?

Jules appears positioned to become the primary villain of Season 4, with Gina acting as his most important ally.

He knows the Bellarie family better than almost anyone. He spent years protecting their secrets, cleaning up their crimes, and understanding how Horace, Norman, Olivia, Mallory, Charles, and Roy operate. He can now use that information against them.

Gina adds another level of danger because her organization exists outside the Bellarie family’s traditional structure. Kimmie and Mallory cannot simply remove her from the company or order Bellarie security to deal with her. Gina has her own people and her own source of power.

Their alliance may not remain stable forever. Jules is motivated by grief and revenge, while Gina appears interested in money, ownership, and control. Those goals currently overlap, but the finale does not prove that Gina will continue following Jules once his personal war begins damaging her business.

For now, however, Jules is clearly calling the shots. The former Bellarie fixer has turned the family’s secrets against them, and Gina has given him the army he needs to carry out his revenge.

Season 4 will have to reveal who survived the Make It Rain attack, whether Jules believes his revenge is complete, and how long Gina is willing to remain loyal to him.
