Below Deck Mediterranean has hosted wealthy entrepreneurs, professional athletes and celebrities over the years, but Season 11’s final primary charter guest arrives with a personal life that immediately fascinates Captain Sandy Yawn’s crew. Tristan Schukraft boards Akira One with his longtime fiance, Melvin Alexander, five additional boyfriends and a group dynamic that leaves the crew trying to understand who is dating whom.

His Below Deck appearance is only one small part of his story. Schukraft is a technology entrepreneur and hospitality executive whose businesses include MISTR, Tryst Hospitality and some of the best-known LGBTQ+ nightlife properties in the United States.

Who Is Tristan Schukraft?

Tristan Schukraft is an American entrepreneur whose career has moved through technology, health care, nightlife and luxury hospitality. He is originally from Los Angeles and has also lived in Puerto Rico, where several of his hospitality ventures have been based.

Bravo introduces Tristan during Below Deck Med Season 11 as a billionaire charter guest. His precise personal net worth is not independently documented in the same way a public company’s valuation would be, so the most accurate description is that Bravo presents him as a billionaire and Schukraft has publicly discussed building a large portfolio of businesses.

His entrepreneurial career began long before Tryst Hotels. Schukraft has said he started his first software business in his early 20s before creating ID90, a travel platform designed for airline employees.

The airline connection was personal. Schukraft grew up around the airline industry and recognized that employee travel discounts could be moved into a more modern digital system, eventually expanding ID90 internationally.

What Businesses Does Tristan Schukraft Own?

Schukraft is currently best known for Tryst Hospitality, his LGBTQ+-focused hospitality company. Its portfolio includes hotels, nightlife venues, restaurants and other businesses built around LGBTQ+ travel and community.

Among its best-known properties is The Abbey in West Hollywood, one of the most recognizable LGBTQ+ nightlife venues in Los Angeles. Schukraft acquired The Abbey and The Chapel after building a growing hospitality portfolio that already included properties in Puerto Rico and Mexico.

Tryst Hospitality has also expanded into destinations including Fire Island and Puerto Vallarta. The company’s stated goal is to create luxury spaces where LGBTQ+ travelers can feel comfortable being themselves without having to second-guess how they will be received.

Before his hospitality expansion, Schukraft founded MISTR, a telehealth platform focused on HIV prevention, PrEP access, STI services and long-term care. Out reported in 2026 that MISTR had grown to around 700,000 patients, making it another major part of his business profile.

Who Is Tristan Schukraft’s Fiance Melvin Alexander?

Melvin Alexander is Tristan Schukraft’s longest-running partner and fiance. The couple had been together for approximately seven years by 2026, making Melvin the most established relationship within Tristan’s larger family structure.

Schukraft proposed to Melvin in December 2024 during a trip to the South Pole in Antarctica. Photos and videos from the engagement showed the couple celebrating in the extreme conditions before continuing their travels together.

Despite the engagement, Schukraft has suggested that an actual wedding may not be especially important to them. In a 2026 interview, he jokingly described Melvin as his “forever fiance,” making it clear that the engagement itself does not necessarily mean the pair is rushing toward a traditional marriage.

Does Tristan Schukraft Really Have Five Other Boyfriends?

Yes. Schukraft has publicly discussed having five other boyfriends in addition to Melvin, meaning he describes himself as having six romantic partners in total.

The arrangement is more complicated than seven men all dating each other equally. Schukraft has explained that the household functions more like three interconnected throuples. He and Melvin share one boyfriend, while Tristan is also involved with two other couples who are part of the larger family.

The partners live together, but Schukraft has also joked that this does not mean everyone sleeps in one enormous bed. His description of the household is closer to several overlapping relationships living as one large family.

The Below Deck Med episode simplifies that structure by introducing Tristan with his fiance and five boyfriends, which naturally leaves the crew trying to work out everyone’s connection. Episode 17 identifies Vitor as one member of the group, while Cory is presented as a friend rather than one of Tristan’s partners.

Why Did Tristan Schukraft Go on Below Deck Med?

Tristan appears as the primary guest on the ninth and final charter of Below Deck Mediterranean Season 11. He arrives with his partners for a luxury Croatian getaway aboard Akira One, giving the crew one last demanding group to handle before the season ends.

The group’s relationship structure immediately becomes a point of curiosity, but their food requirements create the bigger professional challenge. Tristan and several of his guests prioritize fitness and want high-protein meals with relatively low levels of carbs and sugar.

Chef Joy Lefaucheur initially underestimates just how much protein the group expects. A dinner built heavily around chicken still feels too light to some of the guests, and their late-night food leads to another request for more chicken.

Joy eventually adjusts by speaking with the group directly and changing her menu. The situation becomes less about picky guests and more about learning exactly how much food a group of dedicated gym-goers expects during a luxury charter.

Why Is Tristan Called the “CEO of Everything Gay”?

The nickname comes from the unusually broad collection of LGBTQ+-focused businesses Schukraft has built or acquired. His portfolio spans health care, hotels, nightclubs, restaurants and other community-oriented businesses.

Out included him in its 2024 Out100 list of innovators after his acquisition of The Abbey, expansion into Fire Island and growth of MISTR. The publication noted that Schukraft has openly modeled his entrepreneurial ambitions on Richard Branson’s ability to build a recognizable brand across very different industries.

Schukraft himself has embraced the nickname rather than treating it as a formal corporate title. The common thread across his ventures is that they are designed around LGBTQ+ customers, whether through health care access or hospitality spaces where queer travelers and locals can feel comfortable.

That background helps explain why his appearance on Below Deck Med feels different from an ordinary wealthy-charter-guest cameo. Tristan arrives with a lifestyle that already attracts public interest, a recognizable hospitality business, and a family structure that viewers are likely to have questions about long after the charter ends.
