Furious Episode 6 finally puts Alice and Catherine in the same room long enough for the case against Jay Easton to become more than suspicion, only for Marshall to turn their fragile understanding into a violent confrontation. The episode ends with Catherine shooting Marshall after he attacks Alice, but Marshall is still breathing and groaning afterward, so his death is not confirmed. Just before that, Catherine tells Alice that she cannot remember exactly what happened when Isabel died, reveals that Isabel’s daughter is Elena, and confirms that copies of evidence from Jay’s computer still exist. The final laptop scene then shows that the supposedly erased material has survived somewhere outside Ed George’s control.
Alice finds Catherine by following Isabel’s past
Alice reaches Catherine through the part of Isabel’s story that had received comparatively little attention: her pregnancy. After learning more about Alice’s own teenage pregnancy, the investigation turns toward whether a safe-surrender location existed in 2012, when Isabel would have been trying to give up her newborn. Alice follows that line herself rather than waiting for the larger team to work through it.
She reaches a shelter for sex workers in crisis and immediately spots Catherine, who is using the name Grace there. Instead of identifying herself as an FBI agent, Alice pretends that she also needs a bed and quietly calls Nora after confirming Catherine is inside. Nora initially treats this as an opportunity to surround the building and potentially persuade Catherine to testify against Jay rather than simply storming in.
That choice shapes the rest of the episode. Alice does not meet Catherine across an interrogation table. They spend hours living in the same space, and Alice’s own history of abuse gives Catherine a reason to speak to her that a conventional arrest probably would not have created.

What does Catherine remember about Isabel’s death?
Catherine remembers going toward Jay Easton’s house with Isabel, but she says she cannot remember what happened between that moment and Isabel’s death. Alice pushes her for a direct account because Catherine’s testimony could finally connect Jay to the trafficking and abuse the investigation has been circling. Catherine cannot give her the clean answer she wants.
That memory gap is important because the episode repeatedly shows Catherine struggling with depersonalization, derealization and periods in which she loses her sense of time. She even tells Alice earlier that she sometimes does not know what day it is. Her inability to explain Isabel’s final hours therefore fits something the episode has been establishing about Catherine rather than feeling like a convenient refusal to answer.
It also keeps one of Furious’ central mysteries intact. Catherine believes Isabel was killed and has spent years trying to identify who was responsible, but Episode 6 does not prove that she personally witnessed Jay killing her. Her certainty about Jay and her memory of Isabel’s last night are not the same thing.
What evidence does Catherine have against Jay Easton?
Catherine tells Alice that she has hard evidence copied from Jay Easton’s computer, including videos involving girls. She also makes clear that the material is not physically with her because somebody else is keeping it safe. That becomes particularly important because the official investigation’s own laptop evidence is being compromised elsewhere.
Nora has recovered a laptop believed to belong to Hal Hartford, Jay’s lawyer, and tells Ed George that it could contain useful material. Ed soon inserts himself into that part of the case, and the laptop is later described as having been scrubbed clean. Nora has already confronted Ed with her theory that Jay was once his source on the banking investigation that made Ed’s career and that Ed helped make an earlier dead-girl case disappear when Jay needed protection.
Episode 6 does not definitively prove every part of Nora’s theory, because Ed denies it. What the ending does establish is that removing the material from one laptop has not removed every copy.
Elena is Isabel’s daughter, and Catherine has been trying to protect her
Catherine gives Alice the name she wants something in return for the evidence: Isabel’s daughter is Elena. Earlier in the episode, Catherine is already worried about Elena and tells Jean that the girl is no longer safely with a family. The later conversation with Alice finally explains why Elena matters to her.
Catherine says Elena is living on the street with a man called Big Man. She previously tried to get the girl away from him but admits that she could not take care of Elena herself and eventually let her go. She also promised Elena that she would find the person responsible for Isabel’s death.
The revelation makes Catherine’s fixation on Isabel less abstract. She has not simply been carrying grief for a dead friend. Isabel left behind a daughter whose life Catherine believes she has also failed to protect, and solving Isabel’s murder has become tied to that guilt.
Why does Catherine shoot Marshall?
Catherine shoots Marshall because he is violently attacking Alice in front of her. Marshall suddenly appears after Alice realizes the law-enforcement team that was supposed to be outside has not come for Catherine. He attacks Alice, grabs her and blames her for what has happened to him.
The scene lands differently because Catherine already knows who Marshall is. During their earlier conversation, Alice admits that the former boyfriend who beat her was a police officer. Catherine then presses Alice on why she did not report him or get him jailed, forcing Alice to admit that fear and shame kept her from taking action.
When Marshall attacks, Catherine sees the abuse Alice described happening in real time. She orders him away from Alice and then shoots him. The episode does not explicitly state whether Catherine fires solely to protect Alice, because violence is already Catherine’s preferred answer to men she sees as abusers. Still, the immediate trigger is unambiguous: Marshall is assaulting Alice when Catherine intervenes.
Does Marshall die at the end of Furious Episode 6?
Episode 6 does not confirm Marshall’s death. Catherine fires one shot, Marshall falls, and the gun drops. Crucially, the soundtrack continues to identify Marshall as groaning, gasping and making sounds after he has been shot.
The scene then cuts away without showing medical treatment, another gunshot or a declaration that he is dead. That means calling Marshall dead based only on Episode 6 would go beyond what is shown. His condition is clearly serious, but he is alive at the last moment the episode lets us observe him.
That distinction will matter going forward because Marshall is not only Alice’s abusive ex. He is also a police officer connected to the investigation and now a direct witness to Catherine and Alice being together.

What does Alden give Danny in the final scene?
The last major reveal confirms that the evidence Catherine described has survived. While Danny is questioning Alden, Alden quietly directs him to something hidden between the cushions and explains that the dead man found in his house had copied it from Jay Easton’s laptop. He begs Danny to use it to help Catherine.
The episode then shows the copied material being accessed on a laptop. Furious deliberately withholds the full contents from the audience, but Danny’s stunned reaction makes its significance clear. The important point is not yet exactly what every file contains. It is that Ed’s claim that the recovered laptop was clean does not end the evidentiary trail.
That gives Episode 6 two endings at once. On the personal level, Alice and Catherine come close to trusting one another before Marshall’s attack drags Alice’s past directly into Catherine’s violent world. On the investigative level, evidence against Jay escapes the institutional effort to erase it. Alice may finally have found Catherine, but by the credits the far bigger problem for Jay Easton and anyone protecting him is that somebody else has found the files.
