90 Day Fiance Season 12 closes with Episode 21, Tell All Part 3, bringing the three-part reunion to an end after weeks of uncomfortable questions about trust, children, money and whether some of these marriages can actually survive beyond the 90-day process.

The September 27 finale returns to several issues left hanging in Part 2. Marissa reconsiders what having a child with Edward could look like, Paula reveals major plans involving Brazil that Thomas had not fully understood, Rod once again questions Maxwell’s intentions with Ashia, and Debby is confronted with the possibility that Mido’s future may take him back to Egypt. TLC promoted those four relationships as the central stories of the Season 12 finale.

Marissa Has a Change of Heart About Edward Having a Child

Part 2 ended with one of the Tell All’s most emotional conversations when Edward admitted how deeply he wants to experience fatherhood. Marissa had been clear before their marriage that she did not intend to have more children, and Edward initially accepted that arrangement.

Part 3 does not suddenly turn Marissa into someone eager to have another baby. Instead, the conversation moves toward whether there is another way Edward could become a father without Marissa carrying a pregnancy herself. Surrogacy emerges as the possible compromise, giving Edward something he had not previously believed was realistically available to them.

That is the “change of heart” teased for the finale. Marissa becomes willing to consider a route she had previously not treated as part of their future, although it remains a possibility rather than a firm plan.

Marissa later confirmed that the surrogacy discussion came up during the Tell All. In a September 24 interview with Edward, she explained that viewers had even contacted them offering to serve as surrogates. She also clarified that they are not pursuing it immediately because she recently bought two businesses and Edward is still establishing himself financially, but she expects them to revisit the conversation.

The distinction matters. Edward and Marissa leave Season 12 still married and still facing the same fundamental question, but for the first time, their disagreement about children no longer looks completely binary.

Paula’s Plans in Brazil Surprise Thomas

Paula and Thomas spent much of Season 12 struggling with a basic question: whose life was supposed to change after they married?

Paula left a successful business and family network in Brazil to move into Thomas’ minimalist California apartment, while Thomas repeatedly struggled to understand why the life he had already built was not enough for her. Their Tell All arguments only reinforced how differently they view money, comfort and compromise.

Part 3 brings that conflict back through Paula’s continuing financial and personal ties to Brazil. The discussion reveals that she is putting significant resources into her life there, including property and business plans, while also imagining important future milestones taking place in Brazil. Post-episode discussion focused heavily on the revelation that Paula was buying an apartment in Brazil, expanding her business interests there and would prefer to have a future child in Brazil, plans Thomas had not fully been brought into beforehand.

The issue is not simply that Paula still loves Brazil. Thomas has always known that. Paula built a successful piercing business there before coming to the United States, and she has spoken publicly about how difficult it was to leave that business behind.

What bothers Thomas is the idea of major marital decisions being made separately. Paula sees her Brazilian business and investments as something she worked for before the marriage, while Thomas wants decisions about where they live and build a family to feel more like joint choices.

It leaves them married but still wrestling with the same problem that nearly stopped their wedding: Paula does not want marriage to require abandoning the life she created in Brazil, while Thomas does not want to feel as though his wife could relocate whenever life in the United States disappoints her.

Rod Still Does Not Trust Maxwell

Ashia and Maxwell may have gotten married, but their wedding did little to change Rod’s opinion of Maxwell.

With Maxwell still in Nigeria while his immigration process continues, Rod tells the Tell All that he does not know him well enough to trust him. More seriously, he argues that Ashia’s judgment may be clouded because he believes Maxwell “love-bombed” her.

Ashia pushes back. She believes Rod’s discomfort is partly about losing influence over her life and being unable to control Maxwell from thousands of miles away. Maxwell rejects that idea as well, making clear that he would not accept Rod controlling him even if they lived in the same country.

The conversation becomes sharper when money enters the discussion. When Shaun Robinson asks whether Rod believes Maxwell could potentially take advantage of Ashia financially, Rod says that concern is real for him.

Ashia does not accept Rod’s conclusion. Throughout the season, she has consistently argued that Maxwell should be judged as an individual rather than through stereotypes about Nigerian men or international marriages.

That leaves their finale story without a neat reconciliation. Ashia remains committed to Maxwell, Maxwell remains committed to coming to the United States through the proper immigration process, and Rod remains unconvinced.

Debby Says She Would Follow Mido Back to Egypt

Debby and Mido enter the finale with perhaps the widest gap between what Debby believes their marriage can become and what people around her fear it may already be.

Mido’s acting ambitions have been part of that concern since early in Season 12. He came to the United States with dreams of pursuing entertainment opportunities, while Debby’s family and friends repeatedly questioned whether those ambitions were becoming more important than building a marriage with her.

Part 3 makes the issue practical. The possibility is raised that Mido may have to return to Egypt if his ability to remain and work in the United States does not develop the way he expects.

When Debby is asked whether she would go to Egypt with her husband, she says yes. Instead of settling the matter, her answer creates another uncomfortable moment because Mido does not appear particularly reassured by the idea of Debby simply following him.

That puts Debby in the position TLC teased before the finale: wondering whether the marriage can survive if their plans for life in America fall apart.

The problem is bigger than geography. Debby has repeatedly demonstrated that she is willing to reorganize her life around Mido, while she still needs reassurance that Mido would make the same sacrifices for their marriage.

The Other Season 12 Couples Leave With Problems Unresolved

Tell All Part 3 does not deliver an equally dramatic new revelation for every couple. Instead, several relationships leave the stage carrying problems established during the first two installments.

Catie and Josh remain married after Catie clarified in Part 2 that she did not truly mean it when she said she no longer wanted to be married. Her decision to take a month away from drinking was presented as another attempt to demonstrate change, but the larger disagreements over trust, boundaries and what marriage should look like were not magically resolved.

Mallorie and Rasit also remain together after surviving the two uncomfortable revelations involving Brandon and Mallorie’s false-positive pregnancy test. Their more important long-term question continues to be whether they ultimately want the same future when it comes to children.

Shea and Anabelle similarly leave the Tell All married, but Anabelle’s lingering trust issues do not disappear. Her position throughout the reunion has been that she can forgive Shea without pretending the concerns surrounding Nicole and his past behavior never happened.

The unusual part of Season 12 is that all seven featured couples reached the altar and got married before the Tell All. The three reunion episodes therefore became less about who said “I do” and more about whether those decisions still made sense after the cameras followed them into married life.

Part 3 provides some movement without giving many couples complete closure.

Marissa finds a possible middle ground with Edward through the idea of surrogacy, although their current plans remain on hold. Paula and Thomas discover that marriage has not solved their disagreement over where their future should be built. Ashia chooses to trust Maxwell despite Rod’s warnings, while Debby makes clear she is willing to follow Mido even if his American plans collapse.

That makes the final Tell All less about a single shocking breakup and more about what happens after the visa deadline stops being the main problem.

Every Season 12 couple managed to get married. The finale’s bigger question is whether marriage itself will be enough to keep them together once immigration, children, money, family and long-term plans become the next test.
