Conner Leavitt

For most of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, Conner Leavitt occupied a familiar reality television position: he was Whitney Leavitt’s husband, appearing when the series turned toward her marriage or family life. That description no longer quite fits. Conner has spent the past year building a performance career of his own, and his biggest step yet comes with Dancing With the Stars Season 35, where he is competing alongside professional dancer Adele Zaikman.

His casting inevitably produced jokes about whether being married to a reality star is enough to make someone a celebrity. Conner has been more willing than anyone to make that joke himself, referring to his new status as a “nepo husband.” Yet his route to the ballroom is more substantial than simply following Whitney onto another ABC show.

Conner Leavitt Is a Performer and Producer

Conner Leavitt is 32 years old. He was born on December 7, 1993, in Utah, and has spent most of his public life better known as Whitney Leavitt’s husband. That has changed considerably since The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives turned the Leavitts into one of MomTok’s most recognizable couples. Conner is now building a career of his own as a performer, producer and creator, with Dancing With the Stars Season 35 giving him his biggest individual television platform yet.

Before entertainment became a serious career path, Conner studied economics at Brigham Young University and worked in finance. His professional direction began shifting as Whitney’s television and stage career expanded, and in 2026 he made his Off-Broadway debut in the dance production 11 to Midnight at New York’s Orpheum Theatre. The limited run, which featured a performance-heavy mix of dance and theater, put Conner on stage months before his move into the DWTS ballroom.

Conner and Whitney have also expanded into production together through Leavitt Media House, an independent company developing scripted and unscripted projects. The venture suggests that Conner’s recent appearances are not simply an extension of Whitney’s reality television fame. Between theater, production and now Dancing With the Stars, he has increasingly been establishing an entertainment career separate from his role on Mormon Wives.

How Conner Met Whitney Leavitt

Conner and Whitney’s story actually began indirectly. Before they were a couple, Whitney served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Georgia and spent time with Conner’s family without knowing that she would later marry him. The two eventually met properly in 2015 after agreeing to accompany friends on what was supposed to be a double date. Their friends backed out, but Conner and Whitney connected anyway.

They married the following year in a Mormon temple in Provo, Utah. Ten years later, they are parents to three children: daughter Sedona and sons Liam and Billy Gene. Their marriage reached its 10-year milestone in 2026, which they marked by renewing their vows at the Little White Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas.

That longevity is important to Conner’s public story because the version of their marriage shown on Mormon Wives has never been entirely polished. Some of the couple’s most difficult private issues became part of the series almost immediately.

Conner and Whitney Have Been Open About Their Marriage Problems

Before the Hulu series began, Conner had struggled with pornography and maintained a secret presence on a dating platform while married. Whitney has said the online interactions did not become physical affairs, but discovering what had been happening created a serious crisis in their marriage. The couple temporarily relocated to Hawaii and began working through the situation in therapy.

Conner later discussed another, far more personal part of that history during the Season 2 reunion. He revealed that he had experienced sexual abuse as a child and said therapy helped him connect that unresolved trauma to his later search for validation. Whitney publicly supported his decision to discuss the experience, while both have described the work they did afterward as important to rebuilding their marriage.

Their relationship today is in a very different place. Alongside raising their children, they are now business partners through Leavitt Media House and have repeatedly supported each other’s expanding stage careers. Whitney was in the audience as Conner made his Off-Broadway debut, even making a surprise appearance during his opening-night performance.

Conner Has Danced on DWTS Before

Season 35 is Conner’s first time competing for the Mirrorball Trophy, but it is not his first time dancing in the DWTS ballroom. During Whitney’s Season 34 run with Mark Ballas, Conner joined them for a guest trio performance. He was also frequently visible in the audience supporting Whitney throughout her season.

The show’s producers clearly noticed him. Executive producer Conrad Green said the team got to know Conner while Whitney was competing and liked his personality and the energy he brought around the production. When Adele Zaikman earned a professional spot after winning Dancing With the Stars: The Next Pro, producers paired her with Conner, believing their personalities would work well together.

That background helps explain why his casting is less random than it initially appeared to viewers who knew him only as “Whitney’s husband.”

Who Is Conner Leavitt’s DWTS Partner?

Conner is paired with Adele Zaikman for Season 35. Zaikman won the inaugural season of The Next Pro, earning her place on the flagship series immediately afterward. Conner has described her as a coach who knows when rehearsals can be relaxed and when it is time to become serious about the work.

Whitney, meanwhile, has tried not to become his unofficial second coach. Her advice has been less about technique and more about appreciating how quickly the competition passes. Conner told E! that Whitney encouraged him to stay present, enjoy the relationships he forms and take in the experience rather than allowing the pressure of the competition to dominate it.

Why Conner’s Casting Received Backlash

Not everyone welcomed Conner’s place in the Season 35 cast. Some viewers questioned whether a reality star’s spouse qualified as a celebrity in his own right, particularly in a lineup that also includes actors, athletes, musicians and established television personalities. Conner responded by leaning into the criticism instead of fighting it, joking online that he was simply “Whitney’s husband.”

The timing may ultimately work in his favor. Conner enters the competition with less mainstream name recognition than many of his rivals, but that also gives him an obvious narrative: viewers who think they already know what he is doing there get to decide whether he can prove himself once the dancing begins.

Season 35 premieres across September 15 and 16, with Conner among the male celebrities competing on the first night. For Mormon Wives viewers, the ballroom offers an unusual reversal. After years of Conner supporting Whitney’s ambitions from the side of the frame, she is now the one watching while he takes center stage.
