Season 5, which arrived on Hulu on September 10 with five episodes, only tells part of that story because several important changes happened after filming.

Taylor Frankie Paul and Dakota Mortensen Are Not Together
Taylor Frankie Paul and Dakota Mortensen remain separated. Their years-long on-and-off relationship continued to complicate Taylor’s romantic life even after she left to film The Bachelorette. Season 5 reveals that Taylor became engaged to winner Doug Mason, but she later admitted that she hooked up with Dakota after returning home from the dating show. She also reconnected with Ben Lambert before ultimately ending her engagement to Doug.
None of those relationships is current. After Season 5 premiered, Taylor described herself as single and celibate, indicating that she is taking a break from dating rather than reconciling with Dakota, Doug or Ben. Taylor and Dakota remain connected through their son, Ever, but their present relationship is centered on co-parenting and an ongoing legal dispute rather than romance.
Jen and Zac Affleck Are Still Married
Jen Affleck and Zac Affleck are still married, but Season 5 makes it clear that their problems have not disappeared. Jen’s growing interest in acting, music and modeling creates another conflict between her ambitions and Zac’s more traditional expectations. The most serious disagreement comes when Jen reveals that Zac said he would want a divorce if she accepted an acting role that required her character to have an on-screen romantic relationship.

Layla Taylor Is Dating Kelsie Chesser
Layla Taylor is no longer with Mason McWhorter. Their relationship is discussed during Season 5, including concerns from Layla’s friends about the dynamic between them, but the pair eventually went separate ways. Layla confirmed their breakup in February 2026.
A few months later, Layla publicly came out as bisexual and revealed that she was dating a woman. That woman has since been identified as Colorado-based barber and content creator Kelsie Chesser. Miranda Hope Is Dating Kaleb Winterburn
Miranda Hope has also entered a new relationship since her divorce from Chase McWhorter. Miranda and Chase, who share two sons, divorced in 2024 and have continued trying to maintain a functional co-parenting relationship. Her current boyfriend is content creator Kaleb Winterburn.

Whitney and Conner Leavitt Are Still Married
Whitney and Conner Leavitt remain together after a decade of marriage.
