Strictly Come Dancing, or Strictly, is a renowned British dance competition in which celebrities partner up with professional dancers to perform ballroom and Latin dances. Each pair is scored by a panel of four judges. The title of the program is a continuation of a long-running program called Come Dancing. This format, known as Dancing with the Stars, is also used in 60 other countries and is licensed by BBC Worldwide. It even spawned a spin-off called Strictly Dance Fever, which focuses on modern dancing. Guinness World Records named Strictly Come Dancing the most successful reality TV genre in the world in 2010.
Starting from May 15, 2004, the show has been aired on BBC One. It usually takes place on Saturday evenings, followed by a results show on Sunday nights. Starting from the second series, the show has been part of the Christmas lineup. Thanks to its impressive number of viewers, Strictly Come Dancing has become an important show on British television. In addition, there have been eighteen separate Christmas specials and nineteen charity specials produced alongside the regular series. {Wikipedia}
