Love Island is a British dating reality game show. It is a revival of the earlier celebrity series of the same name, which aired for two series in 2005 and 2006 on ITV. The series is narrated by Iain Stirling, and was hosted by Caroline Flack until her suspension in 2019. Later, Laura Whitmore started presenting the series in 2020. The series is the originator of the international “Love Island” franchise, with twenty-two versions of it having been produced so far worldwide. The show has been highly successful and influential in British popular culture, it became ITV2’s most watched show in the network’s history in 2018. As of 2020, it was the most watched TV show among its target audience of 16-34 year olds.

The official cast for “Love Island” season 8 has been announced. Since there are six guys and five girls, it seems like someone will be single from episode one.

1. Davide Sanclimenti

Davide Sanclimenti is a 27-year-old business owner originally from Rome, Italy. But resides in Manchester, England. He says, “I think Love Island is going to be so much fun. I’m going to be the Italian stallion in the villa! With my Italian charm, I can also be a very romantic guy. I’m good looking and I’ve realised since I first arrived in Manchester, a lot of English girls actually love me. They love to be around me and I love to be around them. It’s going to be fun, I’m looking forward to it. 2. Tasha Ghouri

Tasha Ghouri is a 23-year-old model and dancer from Thirsk, England. She is the first ever deaf contestant of “Love Island”. She has told in her official biography that she joined the show because her dating life “has been a shambles”. Tasha said “This is an opportunity for me to find ‘the one’ and have a great summer at the same time. I’m definitely ready for a relationship. I’m 23 now so I’m ready to get to know someone, go on holidays, and travel with them”.

3. Gemma Owen

Gemma Owen is a 19-year-old international dressage rider and business owner from Chester, England. She is popularly known as the daughter of football legend Michael Owen. She has her own beachwear line and has competed for Great Britain. She describes herself as ‘fun, flirty and fiery’, Gemma says that she’s ‘open to finding love’ in the villa, adding that although she is competitive, she’s a firm believer in girl code and doesn’t believe in stepping on any toes.

4. Luca Bish

Luca Bish is a 23-year-old fishmonger from Brighton, England. He is a single heading into the Majorcan villa this summer. After coming out of a long-term relationship, Luca is hopeful to find love, admitting he likes to meet girls IRL. He told, “When you actually look back at Love Island, you can see how many couples it’s genuinely made. I don’t know how many kids Love Island has made but there are a few aren’t there?”.

5. Ikenna Ekwonna

Ikenna Ekwonna is a 23-year-old from Nottingham, England. He works in Pharmaceutical Sales and says he’s finally ready to find someone after only having been in one relationship before. He tells he’s hoping to bring “spontaneity and excitement” to the villa. Ikenna also told “I’m not really shy to speak to people and I don’t really care too much about what people think,”. 6. Amber Beckford

Amber Beckford is a 24-year-old nanny from London, England. She is keen to find love but also wants to have some tight female friendships in the villa, adding: “I can definitely be opinionated so I’m not sure how that’s going to go down”. Amber says, “I don’t like guys that show off. I don’t like flashy, showy-offy guys – just have a personality and make me laugh”.

7. Andrew Le Page

Andrew Le Page is a 27-year-old real estate agent from Guernsey. He is looking for love during a time of his life when he’s single, which he described as a rarity, adding that he’s ‘very loyal’ in a relationship. He also said, “I’m a good boyfriend as when I’m with someone I’m all for them,”.

8. Indiyah Polack

Indiyah Polack is a 23-year-old hotel waitress from London, England. Her official biography says that she will bring “flavor and vibrancy” to the villa. She told, “It’s quite hard to date without being influenced by social media and stuff like that”. Indiyah also said, “Everyone I’ve dated have all been quite different. I don’t think I have ever been out with two guys who are quite the same”.

9. Liam Llewellyn

Liam Llewellyn is a 22-year-old post graduate student from Newport, south Wales. He says, “[I’m] quite generous, quite caring, happy, chatty, chirpy, bubbly. I wear my heart on my sleeve, I can’t hide how I feel about anyone. I’m probably quite emotional as well come to think about it”.

10. Dami Hope

Dami Hope is a 26-year-old senior microbiologist from Dublin, Ireland. He believes in star signs and says, “I’m an Aries but I’m very passionate – I always used to put that person first. If they had something they wanted to do or something they were passionate about, I’d make sure that even if it’s something I’m not talented at I’d get talented at it just so it helps them. I’m really good at being in a team and actually looking after each other”.

11. Paige Thorne

Paige Thorne is a 24-year-old paramedic from Swansea, Wales. She says, “I am a good cook and I’m quite mumsy so I’ll look after anyone that needs looking after. If I had to pick a signature dish, it would probably be a Sunday dinner. My roasties are up there, I think Gordon Ramsay would be impressed – I think he would be like ‘9/10 or 10/10’”.
