Love Is Blind Netherlands: Which Couples Are Still Together After Episode 8?

‘Love Is Blind: Netherlands’ enters a very different phase in Episodes 6 through 8, as the romantic escape of Zanzibar gives way to ordinary life and increasingly serious conversations about marriage. Once the couples return home, questions about work, money, family approval, communication and physical chemistry become impossible to avoid. Several relationships that survived the pods and the retreat quickly begin to unravel under that pressure. By the end of Episode 8, only two couples are still preparing to walk down the aisle.

The biggest surprise is that one of those couples was not even engaged when the season’s first batch ended. Yasemin’s relationship with Roel falls apart, but her unresolved feelings for Miguel lead to a second chance and eventually another proposal. Elsewhere, Mirella and Gino, Meinou and Marc-Vincent, and Jaslynn and Ludo all decide not to continue toward marriage. That leaves Mika and Jurriaan, along with Yasemin and Miguel, as the final two couples still in the experiment.

Mika and Jurriaan Are Still Together

Mika and Jurriaan remain engaged through Episode 8 and continue toward their wedding, despite having one of the more complicated beginnings of the season. Their relationship nearly collapsed in the pods after a difficult conversation about Mika’s background, but they chose to keep talking and eventually left the experiment’s first stage together. Once they return from Zanzibar, their problems are far less dramatic than those affecting several of the other couples. The move into everyday life instead becomes a test of whether their emotional connection can survive ordinary routines.

Mika and Jurriaan

Living together reveals small differences almost immediately, including Mika noticing that Jurriaan can be untidy around the apartment. She jokes about picking up after him, but the issue never develops into anything serious enough to threaten the engagement. More importantly, both begin to imagine what merging their actual lives would look like outside the experiment. Mika’s visit to Jurriaan’s home, where she meets the cats that mean so much to him, gives her a clearer picture of the life she would be joining.

Their families also become increasingly important as the wedding approaches. Mika tells Jurriaan’s relatives that she can genuinely imagine building a future with him, while they respond positively to her openness and the way Jurriaan behaves around her. Jurriaan later meets Mika’s family and is asked whether he will be able to support her when life becomes difficult. He answers that standing by each other is part of being in a serious relationship, which gives Mika another reason to believe that he understands what marriage would require.

Episode 8 does not present them as completely certain, however, and the approaching wedding brings some understandable anxiety to the surface. Mika and Jurriaan discuss what happens when one person’s doubts begin affecting the confidence of the other, and the conversation briefly becomes uncomfortable. Instead of turning the uncertainty into another major conflict, they continue talking until they understand where the hesitation is coming from. Their ability to work through the discussion becomes one of the clearest signs that the relationship has developed since the pods.

The emotional tone changes again when they finally express their feelings more openly and acknowledge the love that has grown between them. Wedding preparations also bring Jurriaan’s family into the process, including the meaningful gesture of giving him old family cufflinks for the ceremony. The moment makes the possibility of marriage feel far more real than it did during the early stages of the experiment. By the end of Episode 8, Mika and Jurriaan are still engaged and remain on course for the altar.

Yasemin and Miguel Are Engaged and Still Together

Yasemin and Miguel reach the wedding stage through a far less direct route. Yasemin originally left the pods engaged to Roel, even though Miguel had admitted late in the process that his strongest feelings were for her. Once she spent time with Roel in Zanzibar, she realized that the romantic connection she had expected was not developing in the way she hoped. At the same time, she found herself continuing to think about Miguel, which made it increasingly difficult to pretend her engagement was moving in the right direction.

Yasemin and Miguel

After her relationship with Roel ends, Yasemin reconnects with Miguel and tells him that the retreat gave her clarity about what she truly wanted. She even writes him a personal letter explaining that she is finally prepared to open herself to the connection she had been too hesitant to choose in the pods. Miguel does not immediately rush back into the relationship because his own life has changed since Yasemin became engaged. He reveals that he had started seeing Elvira and that genuine feelings had begun developing between them.

Yasemin is disappointed but also understands why Miguel attempted to move on after believing she had chosen another man. Her reaction convinces him that her return is not simply the result of temporary uncertainty, and Miguel eventually decides that he does not want to spend his life wondering what might have happened between them. He ends his developing relationship with Elvira and chooses to explore his feelings for Yasemin instead. The reunion then moves much faster than Yasemin appears to expect, as Miguel decides to propose.

Yasemin accepts, putting the pair back into the experiment as an engaged couple and creating one of the season’s biggest surprises. Their arrival at the cast gathering becomes especially uncomfortable because Roel has to learn that Yasemin is not merely dating Miguel but already wearing another engagement ring. Roel struggles with how quickly the situation changed, particularly because he had considered his own proposal an enormous commitment. Yasemin maintains that remaining with Roel after realizing the romantic connection was missing would have been less honest than ending the engagement.

By Episode 8, Yasemin seems increasingly certain about her decision to choose Miguel. Wedding dress shopping makes the possibility of marriage feel real, and she approaches the ceremony with considerably more confidence than she showed during her relationship with Roel. Miguel, however, is more cautious and admits that he has not completely decided what he will say at the altar. His concern is not about whether he cares for Yasemin but whether they have had enough uninterrupted time together to know that marriage is the right next step.

Their disagreement over timing does not end the engagement, and the couple remains together when Episode 8 concludes. Yasemin believes they have already experienced enough of real life together to understand the strength of the relationship, while Miguel is still trying to separate intense feelings from readiness for marriage. That uncertainty gives their wedding one of the biggest question marks heading into the next episode. For now, however, Yasemin and Miguel are still engaged and are one of the final two couples moving toward the altar.

Mirella and Gino Are No Longer Together

Mirella and Gino officially end their engagement in Episode 7 after struggling with a difference in emotional investment that had already become noticeable in Zanzibar. Mirella increasingly feels that she is putting more energy into the relationship and wants Gino to make their engagement a clearer priority. Gino likes being with her, but the depth of feeling she is waiting for never arrives. Their decision to spend two days apart becomes the final test of whether distance will strengthen or weaken what remains between them.

Mirella hopes the time away will make Gino understand how much he wants the relationship, but he returns with the opposite conclusion. He tells her that he enjoys her company and genuinely likes her as a person, yet he does not feel that he is in love. The romantic spark he has been waiting for has still not developed, and he no longer believes additional time will create it. Mirella is disappointed but accepts that there is no realistic path toward marriage if Gino cannot honestly say that his feelings have reached that point.

Meinou and Marc-Vincent Are No Longer Together

Meinou and Marc-Vincent‘s relationship collapses after a conversation about work and money exposes much deeper differences in how they view partnership. Marc-Vincent questions the stability of Meinou’s new business and worries about what their finances would look like if they married and bought a home together. Meinou hears those concerns as criticism of her independence and rejects any suggestion that she could become financially dependent on him. What begins as a practical discussion quickly becomes a conflict about trust and respect.

Meinou and Marc-Vincent

By Episode 8, the couple has another difficult conversation that pushes the relationship beyond repair. Meinou later explains that she tried to discuss the need to feel emotionally safe, but Marc-Vincent reacted strongly and eventually decided he no longer wanted to continue. He collected his belongings and left, bringing their engagement to an abrupt end before the wedding stage. Their breakup therefore grows out of more than a single money argument, as it reveals a broader inability to discuss uncomfortable subjects without both feeling judged or misunderstood.

Jaslynn and Ludo Are No Longer Together

Jaslynn and Ludo survive several arguments before Episode 8, but they never solve the communication problem underneath those disagreements. Ludo wants affection and emotional reassurance to come naturally, while Jaslynn believes he has to communicate those needs instead of expecting her to read them automatically. She also needs time and space to recharge, something Ludo sometimes experiences as distance or rejection. Their different expectations leave both feeling that they are repeatedly having the same argument without getting any closer to a solution.

Their final conversation begins with both already emotionally exhausted by the pattern. Jaslynn says she feels drained, while Ludo admits that he does not want to spend another week repeating the same problems and no longer knows how to fix them. Rather than continuing toward a wedding in the hope that something will suddenly change, Ludo decides to pack his belongings and leave. Jaslynn is disappointed because she believes there might still have been room to understand each other better, but she also accepts that their engagement has reached its end.

Which Couples Make It to the Weddings?

By the end of Episode 8, Mika and Jurriaan and Yasemin and Miguel are the only couples still preparing for weddings. Mirella and Gino, Meinou and Marc-Vincent, Jaslynn and Ludo, and Yasemin and Roel have all ended their engagements or relationships. The experiment has therefore narrowed dramatically from the group that originally left the pods believing marriage might be only a few weeks away. What remains uncertain is whether either of the surviving couples will actually say yes when they reach the altar.

Mika and Jurriaan appear to have built the more stable path into the final stage, but their conversations show that neither is treating the decision lightly. Yasemin appears certain about Miguel, while his concerns about the speed of their reunion leave their wedding considerably harder to predict. Episode 8 confirms who has survived long enough to reach this point, but it deliberately stops short of answering the most important question. The next stage will determine whether either engagement becomes an actual marriage.
