Leanne Season 2 does not end by having Leanne dramatically choose Andrew, Bill or another man. Instead, the finale, “Bang Me,” brings her story back to the relationship that started everything: her failed marriage to Bill and the question of how much of that failure she is finally willing to understand.

The short answer is that Leanne does not get back together with Bill in the Season 2 finale, nor does the final episode establish a new romantic endgame for her. Andrew and Dutch are not even part of the finale’s story. Rather than resolving Season 2 through romance, the writers end it with Leanne accepting that Bill was not 100% responsible for everything that went wrong in their marriage. Her hilariously specific conclusion is that she deserves 23% of the blame. It sounds like another Leanne punchline, but it is actually one of the biggest signs of growth the character has shown since Bill left her.

Who Does Leanne End Up With at the End of Season 2?

There is no scene in the finale where Leanne chooses one man over another. “Bang Me” contains no appearance from Andrew or Dutch and does not frame Bill as a new romantic option. Instead, the episode is built around the anniversary of the day Bill left Leanne and what she now understands about that marriage one year later. That means it would be misleading to say that the finale confirms Leanne “ends up with” Andrew, Dutch or Bill.

It would also be inaccurate to assume Andrew’s absence automatically means they have broken up. The episode simply does not address Andrew’s relationship status. The writers deliberately make Leanne’s personal realization, rather than her current dating situation, the final statement of Season 2. In other words, the finale does not answer Leanne’s future with a boyfriend. It answers a more important question about Leanne herself. She has finally stopped seeing her divorce only as something Bill did to her.

Does Leanne Get Back Together With Bill?

No. Leanne’s new understanding of her marriage should not be confused with a reconciliation. The finale takes Leanne back through the day Bill ended their marriage. She remembers receiving the devastating email in which her husband told her that he had met someone else and wanted to leave after more than three decades together.

Her anger at what Bill did has not disappeared. Neither has the fact that cheating on her and announcing the end of their marriage by email were his choices. What changes is Leanne’s understanding of everything that happened before that email arrived. During her conversation with Kimi, she remembers something Josie told her before the marriage ended. When Leanne encouraged her adult daughter to get her own apartment, Josie argued that she was practically the only thing her parents still had in common.

According to Josie, Leanne and Bill mostly talked about her life. Take Josie out of the house, and there might not have been much left for them to discuss. Leanne did not want to hear that at the time. A year later, she realizes there was truth in it. That realization does not send her running back to Bill. It allows her to look at their marriage more honestly.

Why Does Leanne Say She Was 23% Responsible for the Divorce?

Leanne spends much of the series believing Bill deserves all the blame for destroying their marriage. Considering how he left, that reaction is understandable.

By the end of Season 2, however, she tells Carol that she no longer thinks Bill was 100% responsible for the marriage falling apart. Leanne decides she will accept 23% responsibility.

The exact percentage is intentionally ridiculous. She initially reaches 25%, then remembers several Valentine’s Days when she claimed she did not want anything and became annoyed because Bill actually believed her. That apparently earns her a two-point reduction. Underneath the joke is a much more serious realization.

Leanne is finally able to separate two different questions: Was Bill wrong to cheat and leave the way he did? Yes. Had their marriage already developed problems before he left? Also yes. Those two truths can exist at the same time.

Taking some responsibility does not excuse Bill. Instead, it shows that Leanne has reached a point where she no longer needs to imagine herself as completely flawless in order to acknowledge that Bill hurt her. That is why the 23% line is so important to the Season 2 ending.

Why Does Leanne Want Bangs, and Why Does She Change Her Mind?

The title “Bang Me” comes from Leanne arriving at Kimi’s salon determined to get bangs. It initially seems like another comedy story about making a questionable hairstyle decision while emotional. Kimi senses there is something deeper behind the request and gets Leanne talking about why she suddenly wants such a dramatic change. It is the anniversary of Bill leaving her.

Retelling that day forces Leanne to revisit the anger, embarrassment and heartbreak she experienced, but it also makes her reconsider moments she had previously ignored. Josie’s warning about the marriage becomes particularly important. Eventually, Leanne tells Kimi that she no longer wants the bangs. That is the real symbolic payoff. At the beginning of the episode, Leanne thinks she needs to change something on the outside because the anniversary has unsettled her. By the end, the transformation has already happened internally. When Kimi tells her she is perfect, Leanne responds that she has just learned she is not.

It sounds harsh, but Leanne does not mean it as self-hatred. She is accepting imperfection. She can admit that she made mistakes without allowing those mistakes to erase what Bill did or diminish how far she has come.

Why Is Carol So Important to the Final Scene?

After leaving the salon, Leanne goes home with another realization on her mind. She thanks Carol. The episode reveals again how much Carol changed her own life after Bill left. Leanne had driven to Chicago in crisis, and Carol ultimately left that life behind and moved back to support her sister.

Leanne tells Carol that she understands what she gave up for her. Carol does not treat it as a burden. She tells Leanne that this is what sisters do and calls herself Leanne’s “ride or die.”

That exchange arguably answers the episode’s “who does Leanne end up with?” question better than any romantic scene could. The person beside Leanne at the emotional end of Season 2 is Carol.

It is not presented romantically, of course. The point is that Leanne has increasingly made the sisters’ relationship its most dependable emotional partnership. Boyfriends, husbands and ex-husbands can complicate their lives, but Carol has been there throughout Leanne’s reinvention.

Are Leanne and Andrew Still Together?

The Season 2 finale itself does not give viewers a definitive update on Andrew. Andrew is neither seen nor mentioned in “Bang Me,” so his absence should not be turned into evidence of a breakup. Likewise, the finale does not contain a scene confirming that Leanne has chosen Andrew as her permanent partner. That distinction matters because Season 2 expands Leanne’s romantic possibilities rather than reducing her story to a simple competition between men.

Bill represents the marriage she spent decades inside. Andrew represents her first serious attempt to love someone after that marriage. Other dating experiences show that Leanne’s post-divorce life does not have to follow a predetermined path. But the finale intentionally steps away from all of that. The last important decision Leanne makes is not “Which man do I want?” It is deciding how she wants to understand herself.

What Does the Leanne Season 2 Ending Really Mean?

Season 1 was largely about Leanne discovering that she could survive Bill leaving her. Season 2 goes a step further and asks whether she can look back on that marriage without seeing herself only as its victim. By the finale, she can. That does not mean Bill was right. It does not mean she regrets moving forward, and it certainly does not mean the two have secretly reconciled. It means Leanne is strong enough to acknowledge a more complicated truth.

Her marriage failed for reasons that existed before Bill’s affair, even though Bill handled that failure terribly. Leanne missed warning signs. She and Bill had grown apart. Josie could see problems her parents did not want to confront. Accepting 23% of that history finally gives Leanne ownership over her story.

The final joke then shifts the attention to Carol, who considers dyeing her hair Elvis black. Kimi immediately asks what has brought her to that point, repeating the same question that opened Leanne’s emotional journey.Carol’s answer is much simpler: her life sucks.

It is a funny closing gag, but it also perfectly completes the season. Leanne has finally worked through one layer of her crisis, while Carol may have a few unresolved feelings of her own.

So, Leanne Season 2 does not end with Leanne choosing Bill, Dutch or any other man. Nor does “Bang Me” establish a new romantic endgame with Andrew. The season instead closes with Leanne understanding herself, her failed marriage and her sister differently than she did at the beginning. For a series about starting over after 33 years of marriage, that may be a much more meaningful ending than simply giving her another man to end up with.
