The eighth season of Bachelor in Paradise debuted on September 27, 2022, with Jesse Palmer taking the reins as host, a role announced in May 2022.
Continuing the tradition, filming occurred in Sayulita, situated in Vallarta-Nayarit, Mexico, marking a departure from the show’s usual summer schedule.
A thrilling twist akin to Casa Amor from Love Island was introduced after the second rose ceremony. Participants were divided by gender and introduced to a new group of the opposite gender. After spending several days together, they faced the decision of either bringing a new potential partner back to Paradise or returning solo in hopes of rekindling connections with their original love interests.
In a major shift, Jesse Palmer stepped in as the new host, succeeding longtime host Chris Harrison. Additionally, Wells Adams was confirmed to reprise his role as the bartender for the fifth consecutive season.
Contestants were unveiled on August 26, 2022, with the first 19 individuals announced. Victoria Fuller’s participation was revealed on August 29, 2022, during the Bachelorette season 19 Men Tell All special, although she did not join on the initial day.
Johnny DePhillipo was announced as a contestant on September 6, 2022, following his elimination on The Bachelorette.
This season showcased the inclusion of two international contestants: Florence Moerenhout from The Bachelor and Bachelor in Paradise Australia, and Adam Todd from The Bachelorette Australia, marking the return of international participants to the American franchise since season 5.
