The Caretaker Next Door Cast Guide

“The Caretaker Next Door” keeps its cast relatively small, which works well for a thriller built around isolation and mistrust. Eve Mauro leads the Lifetime movie as Willow Stevenson, a prosecutor who moves into her late grandmother’s farmhouse after a dangerous conviction puts her safety at risk. Colin Egglesfield as Luke Carson

Colin Egglesfield stars as Luke Carson, the caretaker looking after the rural property where Willow hides. Luke initially comes across as helpful and dependable, making it easier for Willow to trust him while she is already worried about retaliation connected to her court case.

That trust becomes the main source of suspense once Luke’s behavior begins to change. Willow soon realizes that moving somewhere isolated may have made her more vulnerable rather than less.

Egglesfield is best known for playing Dex in the romantic comedy “Something Borrowed.” He also portrayed Joshua Madden in “All My Children,” Tommy Rizzoli in “Rizzoli & Isles” and Evan Parks in “The Client List.” Egglesfield additionally serves as one of the producers of “The Caretaker Next Door.”

Riley Weston as Maggie Thomas

Riley Weston plays Maggie Thomas, one of the important people connected to Willow’s life outside the farmhouse. Weston also worked behind the scenes on the movie, serving as a producer and co-writing the screenplay with Joanna Evans.

Weston has worked as both an actor and writer during her career. Her involvement gives her a larger connection to the project than her supporting role alone might suggest.

“The Caretaker Next Door” ultimately depends most heavily on Mauro and Egglesfield. Willow needs to appear capable enough that viewers believe she successfully prosecuted a dangerous criminal, while Luke has to remain convincing as a trustworthy caretaker long enough for his presence at the farmhouse to feel reassuring. Once that relationship changes, the same isolated property that was supposed to protect Willow becomes the reason she has nowhere easy to run.
